Abstract
Kebutuhan energi listrik saat ini meningkat pesat seiring dengan bertambahnya jumlah masyarakat dan Industri yang berkembang di pulau Sumatera. Peningkatan kebutuhan daya listrik ini harus diseimbangkan dengan kapasitas pembangkit yang lebih besar. Oleh karena banyaknya unit pembangkit yang bekerja maka penting untuk menentukan besarnya pembangkitan daya listrik yang optimal dari masing – masing unit pembangkit serta sesuai dengan total permintaan beban untuk mensuplai kebutuhan energi sehingga kebutuhan daya listrik dapat dipenuhi dengan biaya yang minimal tiap waktunya.
Optimisasi ini dikenal dengan istilah Economic Dispatch (ED). Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, pada tugas akhir ini dilakukan pengujian untuk menganalisa Economic Dispatch (ED) dengan mempertimbangkan transfer daya pada sistem antar Provinsi Sumatera. Simulasi dilakukan pada sistem transmisi antar provinsi di Sumatera menggunakan software MATLAB. Hasil simulasi dan analisis menunjukkan bahwa program dapat memenuhi batasan – batasan yang ditentukan.

The need for electrical energy is currently increasing rapidly in line with the increasing number of people and industries that are developing on the island of Sumatra. This increase in the need for electric power must be balanced with a larger generating capacity. Because of the large number of generating units working, it is important to determine the optimal amount of electric power generation from each generating unit and the total load demand to supply energy needs so that electrical
power needs can be met with minimal costs each time. This optimization is known as the Economic Dispatch (ED). Based on these conditions, in this final project a test carried out to analyze the Economic Dispatch
(ED) by considering the power transfer in the system between Sumatra Province. Simulations were carried out on the provincial transmission system in Sumatra using MATLAB software. The simulation and analysis results show that the program can meet the specified limits
