Abstract

Gula memegang peranan penting dalam ekonomi pangan
Indonesia. Keberadaan gula sebagai salah satu dari sembilan bahan kebutuhan bahan pokok masyarakat sekarang cenderung meningkat, menjadikan perusahaan dan pabrik –pabrik gula mempunyai posisi strategis dalam transformasi ekonomi. Akan didirikan pabrik gula pada tahun 2024 dengan kapasitas 968.575,5 ton/tahun yang berlokasi di kecamatan Wagir, Malang, Jawa Timur. Bahan baku utama pada proses
produksi gula adalah tebu segar. Proses produksi gula dibagi menjadi beberapa unit produksi diantaranya unit gilingan, unit pemurnian, unit penguapan, unit pemasakan dan putaran, dan unit penyelesaian. Pada penyelesaian tugas ini dilakukan salah satu usaha mengoptimalkan dan
menghemat energi yang digunakan pada produksi yaitu dengan
menambahkan Juice Heater 3 pada proses pemurnian gula. Metode pembanding yang dilakukan yaitu dengan menghitung kebutuhan energi pada proses pre-evaporator dengan dan tanpa menggunakan Juice Heater. Penambahan juice heater 3 pada proses pemurnian memberikan selisih kebutuhan energi yang cukup banyak yaitu sekitar 647.940,3 kcal/jam. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan juice heater menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan dalam upaya menghemat energi
pada unit penguapan proses produksi pabrik gula.

Sugar is an important role in Indonesia's food economy. The existence of sugar as one of the nine basic necessities of society now tends to increase, making sugar companies and factories have a strategic position in economic transformation. A sugar factory will be established in 2024 with a capacity of 968,575.5 tons/year located in Wagir sub�district, Malang, East Java. The main raw material in the sugar production process is fresh sugar cane. The sugar production process is divided into several production units including milling units, refining units, evaporation units, cooking and turning units, and finishing units. At the completion of this task, one of the efforts to optimize and save energy used in production is by adding Juice Heater 3 to the sugar refining process. The comparison method used is to calculate the energy requirements in the pre-evaporator process with and without using a Juice Heater. The addition of juice heater 3 in the purification process provides a large difference in energy requirements, which is around 647,940,3 kcal/hour. It can be concluded that the addition of a juice heater shows a significant effect in an effort to save energy in the evaporation unit of the sugar factory production process.
