Abstract

Coastal protection buildings are built with the function of protecting and preventing coastal areas from abrasion or erosion. One of the existing coastal protection buildings is a beach wall (revetment). In coastal protection buildings, structural failures often occur which cause damage and destruction of the coastal protective buildings themselves. One of them is soil scouring. Scouring is the movement of material from the seabed caused by currents and waves where the process is the same as erosion. This study aims to determine the factors that affect the maximum scouring depth and the effect of scouring on landslide stability. The location of this research was carried out on the Matahari Terbit beach of Sanur Denpasar, Bali. Calculation of landslide stability using geoslope software and manual calculations. The variations used are protective stones (river stone, tetrapod, and BPPT Lock), the slope of the structure (1:1,15; 1:1,5; 1:2) and wave return periods (25 years, 50 years, and 100 years). year). The results of the calculation of the revetment structure design obtained 27 design variations. The maximum scouring value that occurs in the 27 revetment designs is 1,614 m for the 25 year wave return period, 1,869 m for the 50 year return wave period, and 2,127 m for the wave return period. It is known that the factors that affect the maximum scouring depth are significant wave height, water depth, and wave period. The results of the landslide stability calculation show that scouring has an effect on the number of safety factors although it is relatively small.
