Abstract

The addition of sinkers on the mooring line is generally used as a support for the anchor in maintaining its position in extreme environmental conditions. In this analysis, the author will analyze the effect of sinkers on the tension of mooring line and on the bearing capacity of the anchor. The sinker variations in this analysis are 10, 15 and 20 tons which will be added to the asymmetric mooring line of CALM Buoy SPM Pengapon Semarang. The type of anchor used by SPM is Stevpris MKIII on soft clay soil type. In this final project, the author first analyzes the tension of mooring line in each environmental loading condition then proceeds to analyze the bearing capacity of the anchor. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that the largest anchor tension occurs in line 3 with extreme conditions with the direction of enviromental load 314.24 deg, which is 1301.19 (End A) and 1310.43 kN (End B). In the analysis of the anchor bearing capacity, the author refers to the SOF ABS Class 2019 standard and the Appendix D2 and D6 API RP 2SK charts. The results of this final project analysis show that the gradation of weight and sinker position causes an increase at tension of mooring line (sinker to fairlead) and the bouyancy with the average percentage increase was 1.35% and 5.93%, respectively. Meanwhile, the anchor bearing capacity which includes required holding capacity, anchor weight, estimate drag distance/fluke length and lift force anchor point decreased with an average percentage of 7.46%, 15.39%, 4.79% and 15.59%. Based on the consideration of the results of the tension analysis at End A and the buoyancy of the DEC condition, it is known that the 20 ton sinker in position 1 is a suitable variation of the sinker in the case study of SPM Pengapon Semarang.
