Abstract

===========================================================================================================
Pharmaceutical salt is a sodium chloride salt that meets the requirements of Pharmacopoeia, an official book issued by a country that contains standardization, guidelines, and testing of drug preparations. In the pharmaceutical industry, this salt is a widely used raw material for the production of infusions, vaccine solvents, syrups, ORS, etc. In Indonesia, there is only 1 pharmaceutical salt factory managed by PT. Pharmaceutical Chemistry. With the large demand for Indonesian pharmaceutical salt, Indonesia imports from several neighboring countries. This pharmaceutical salt is processed from seawater by using themethod of multiple effect evaporator (MEE). 5 steps must be carried out before a pharmaceutical salt product is produced according to the standard (99% purity). The first stage is the purification stage. The raw material used in seawater. Furthermore, the salt solution from the purification unit is concentrated to increase the concentration of the salt solution using a multiple effect evaporator until it reaches a saturated brine condition. The concentrated salt solution in the triple effect evaporator is then pumped into the vacuum pan crystallizer V-220. The output from the vacuum pan crystallizer in the form of a slurry flows to the H-224 centrifuge for the separation process. Next is the production control process, namely the sodium chloride crystals that come out IV are smoothed using an H-320 screen to a size of 20-50 mesh. To be able to build a factory with a capacity of 11,000 tons/year with an operating time of 330 working days, a total Fixed Capital Capital (FCI) of Rp. Rp 802,957,051,334.83; Working Capital (WCI): Rp. 13,581,655,780.07; Total Capital (TCI): Rp. 90,544,371,867.13 ; Production cost per year (TPC): Rp. 111,951,780,297.67 with estimated sales of Rp. 155,250,000,000 obtained IRR 11.23%, POT 4.1 years, and NPV of 292,029,619,109 (positive) indicating that this pharmaceutical salt factory is feasible to establish.
