Abstract

The electrical system on the island of Sumatra still uses an
interconnection system, which is used as a supply of electrical power for the Sumatran region, for that we need a system that works optimally in order to maintain system stability (ideal systems). In this final project, the
area to be discussed is the Arun Aceh 150 KV sub-system. In most case, the disturbance that occurred is a disturbance in the transmission line and a disturbance in the generator that can cause unfulfilled load power. For this reason, a defense scheme is needed as an action, so that problems that
occur in the system do not spread which can lead to blackouts. By considering the generation from the Arun Aceh sub-system of 235 MW with a peak load value of 437 MW, an average load of 342 MW and a low load of 282 MW, it can be concluded that the load value is greater than the generation value, so that if the North Sumatra interconnection channel
is disconnected, it can affect the system response. therefore in this final project an analysis of the transient stability of the system was carried out by considering the generation power of PLTMG Arun Peaker II in the scheme of low load, average load. and peak load. The simulation is done by resetting the power supply and keeping the Under Frequency Relay (UFR) at the same point. From this analysis, it is expected to be able to analyze and provide defense scheme recommendations on the Arun-Aceh sub-system configuration in order to improve system reliability and
stability in accordance with current conditions.
