Abstract

In an effort to maintain the security of Indonesian waters, the government is trying to improve its security system facilities. One of these improvement efforts is to design an automaneuver control system on patrol boats. The control system is designed using Fuzzy Logic of Mamdani of type 1. The design of the control system is intended to maintain a safe distance between 2 ships when sailing together. The two ships that are used as objects are Fast Patrol Boat (FPB) 60. The two FPB 60 ships are modeled use of Nomoto Order 2 approach. The ship installed with the control system is said as controled ship, and the other ship is said as a reference ship. The design is carried out of computer simulations, using the MATLAB toolbox software. The results of the design are tested in conditions when there is or without wave disturbances, in variations of wave height of 1.5 m for the controlled ship, and 1.25 m for the reference vessel. The test results show that the response of control system meet a predetermined set point. The safe distance between the two ships is 106.5 m or about 1.96 Lpp and the speed of controlled ship is 12.72 m/s or 24.73 knots. System testing during wave disturbances shows that the distance between the two ships is 90.26 m or 1.66 Lpp, and the speed of controlled ship is 12.65 m/s or 24.59 knots.
