Abstract

Various efforts have been made to increase electricity production economically by taking into account the use of renewable energy. Dynamic Optimal Power Flow (DOPF) can be used to obtain optimum and economical operation at various load levels. However, there are still many factors that affect the operational costs of the system. Take-or-pay (TOP) energy from Geothermal Power Plants (PLTP) is a factor in the presence of minimal fixed power in the system. TOP gas fuel in Gas Power Plants (PLTG) requires the use of a certain minimum amount of gas during operation. The existence of energy storage with various functions, especially as a spinning reserve in the system can be a factor in determining the optimum and economical operation. Therefore, DC DOPF is needed by considering the TOP of energy and gas as well as energy storage for optimum and economical operation. In this final project, mixed-integer quadratic programming with the help of MATLAB software can be used as solution method. The addition of TOP energy and gas raises the average cost of generation by 1.31%, but on the other hand avoids penalties. With the addition of energy storage, the average generation cost of a system with a TOP contract can be reduced by up to 1.12% after the contract.
