Abstract
Otomasi industri adalah salah satu konsep yang berfungsi untuk melakukan efisiensi dan meningkatkan produktivitas pada suatu sistem produksi. Pada penelitian dijelaskan mengenai penerapan otomasi di tingkat UMKM yaitu Pengrajin Tempe Desa Kwaron, Kabupaten Kediri. Otomasi yang diterapkan adalah penggunaan mesin pencampur ragi dan pengemas otomatis yang dilengkapi dengan Automated Visual Inspection System. Perancangan sistem inspeksi otomatis dimaksudkan sebagai upaya untuk mengevaluasi kemungkinan cacat yang terjadi. Selain itu untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dari para pengrajin tempe tersebut dilakukan pula redesain mesin pengemas otomatis yang telah dibuat dan diterapkan pada UMKM. Dalam melakukan perancangan ulang mesin pengemas otomatis dan sistem inspeksi visual otomatis diterapkan pula metode Analisa Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Metode tersebut bertujuan untuk melakukan efisiensi proses perakitan dan mengurangi total biaya manufaktur yang diperlukan. Hasil fabrikasi dari rancangan sistem inspeksi mampu melakukan proses pemeriksaan kualitas dengan rata-rata akurasi sebesar 94% dengan waktu inspeksi berkurang hingga 68% dari inspeksi manual. Hasil perancangan ulang mesin pengemas tempe otomatis juga berpotensi meningkatkan produktivitas sistem dari 1,35 menjadi 1,56 dan penerapan DFMA pada rancangan desain juga berpotensi mengurangi biaya manufaktur sebesar 10,67%-15,14%.

Industrial automation is a concept for increasing efficiency and productivity in a production system. In this study, it is explained about the application of automation at the SME’s level for Tempe Crafts in Kwaron Village, Kediri Regency. The automation for this SME is about yeast mixing and automatic packaging machines that is equipped with an Automated Visual Inspection System. The design of the automatic inspection system is intended as an effort to evaluate possible defects that occur. In addition, to increase the productivity of the tempe production system, a redesign process is needed for the automatic packaging machine that has been applied to this SME. In redesigning the automatic packaging machine and the automatic visual inspection system, the Design for Manufacturing and Assembly analysis method is also applied. This method aims to increase the assembly process efficiency and reduce the total manufacturing costs. The results of the fabrication of the inspection system design are able to carry out the quality inspection process with an average accuracy of 94% and a reduce the inspection time up to 68% from manual inspection. The results of the redesign for automatic tempe packaging machine is potentially increase system productivity from 1.35 to 1.56 and the application of DFMA to the design also potentially reduce manufacturing costs by 10.67%-15.14%.
