Abstract

Pendidikan bagi anak usia dini merupakan tahap pembelajaran yang sangat penting, namun beberapa permasalahan yang masih dihadapi adalah belum memenuhi standar minimal yang ditetapkan Kemdikbud serta memerhatikan karakter anak usia dini di konteks setempat. Kampung Arab sebagai konteks terpilih melalui studi analisis menunjukkan adanya preferensi yang berbeda antara pembelajaran yang tersedia di sekolah dengan karakter anak usia dini setempat. Sehingga memunculkan permasalahan bagaimana mendesain arsitektur yang sesuai dengan konteks lokal, kebutuhan, dan karakter anak usia dini setempat.
Dengan pendekatan rancang berbasis kebutuhan pengguna dan sifat fungsional ruang, aktivitas yang didesain mempertimbangkan kebutuhan dan karakter anak usia dini di Kampung Arab. Kemudian, metode rancang yang digunakan adalah programmatic writing dimana setiap keputusan dalam mendesain merujuk kepada hasil studi lapangan konteks terpilih.
Arsitektur yang dirancang merupakan objek fasilitas pendidikan yang berfungsi sebagai ruang bermain dan belajar anak usia dini di Kampung Arab. Konsep yang digunakan adalah arsitektur yang berorientasi untuk anak. Fasilitas pendidikan ini melibatkan guru dan orang tua sebagai pelaku pendukung.

Education for early childhood is an important learning stage, some of problems that we must faced are the standards didn’t reach the minimum state that have been arranged by Ministry of Education and paid attention to children’s characters in the local context. Arab village, as the chosen context, shows that there are different preferences between the learning available in schools and the characters of local early children. So, the problem is how to design architecture which is suitable with the local context, needs, and characters of local early children.
With a design approach based on user needs and room functions, the designed activities consider children needs and characters. Then, the design method used is programmatic writing, where every design decisions refer to the results of the selected context. The designed architecture is an educational facility that has function as playing and learning space for early children in the Arab Village. The concept used are child-oriented architecture and involve teachers and parents as supporting actors.
