Abstract
Perkembangan industri kimia di Indonesia saat ini
mengalami perkembangan yang cukup pesat. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya pendirian pabrik yang mengolah bahan mentah menjadi bahan jadi. Kebutuhan gliserol merupakan bahan baku serta bahan penunjang industri kimia mengalami peningkatan. Bahan baku yang digunakan dalam pabrik ini adalah Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) yang dimana ini jumlah nya cukup banyak di Indonesia karena setiap pabrik pemurnian Crude Palm Oil (CPO) produk samping PFAD. Kapasitas pabrik gliserol yang akan didirikan pada tahun 2023 itu yaitu sebesar 500 ton/tahun.
Lokasi yang dipilih untuk pendirian pabrik ini berada di Kawasan Industri Candi Semarang. Pembuatan gliserol menggunakan Proses Fat Splitting yang terdiri dari Penghilangan asam lemak, penghilangan sisa trigliserida, penghilangan kandungan air dan penghilangan zat warna dan bau. Pabrik ini direncanakan bekerja secara kontinyu selam 330 hari/tahun dengan basis 24 jam/ hari.

The development of the chemical industry in Indonesia is
currently experienceing a fairly rapid development. This is indictated by the estavbilshment of factories that process raw materials into finished materials. The need for glycerol which is a raw material and supporting material for the chemical industry has increased. The main
of this glycerol plant is generally the same as other chemical industries, namely establishing a factory that is socio-economically quite profitabl. Coupled with the raw material used in this factory is Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD), which is quite a lot in Indonesia
because every Crude Palm Oil (CPO) produce PFAD by products. The capacity of the glycerol plant to be established in 2023 is 500 tons/year. The location chosen for the establishment of this factory is
in the Candi Industrial Area of Semarang. The process of making this glycerol uses the Fat Splitting Process which consists of removing fatty acids, removing triglyceride residues, removing water content and finally removing dyes and odors. This factory is planned to work continuously for 330 days/year on a 24 hour/day basis.
