Abstract

Kebutuhan garam industri yang semakin meningkat setiap tahunnya dan tidak sebanding dengan produksi garam industri di Indonesia. Sehingga nilai impor garam industri di Indonesia relatif meningkat setiap tahunnya. Berdasarkan data Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) 2018, impor Natrium Klorida di Indonesia mengalami kenaikan. Perkiraan Kebutuhan Impor Natrium Klorida pada Tahun 2023 mencapai 3.131.090 ton/tahun, sehingga memberikan peluang untuk mendirikan pabrik Natrium Klorida. Proses pembuatan Natrium Klorida dengan metode Norbert Rilleux dibagi menjadi tiga tahap. Tahap pertama yaitu tahap pemurnian bahan baku dimana bahan baku yang digunakan berupa air laut dengan konsentrasi NaCl sebesar 3,05%, kemudian mereaksikan air laut tersebut dengan NaOH, Na2CO3, dan BaCl2 didalam reaktor untuk mengikat zat-zat terlarut. Dan kemudian dialirkan ke tangki flokulator untuk menghilangkan pengotor-pengotor yang ada di dalam air laut. Tahap kedua yaitu tahap penguapan yang terjadi di evaporator dan tahap pengeringan yang terjadi di rotary dryer. Dan tahap yang ketiga yaitu tahap pengendalian produk. Pada tahap ini terdiri atas proses penghalusan, pengayakan, dan pengemasan. Natrium klorida yang dihasilkan berukuran 80 mesh selanjutnya ditampung di tangki penyimpanan. Kapasitas produksi pabrik sebesar 180.000 ton/tahun dan bahan baku yang dibutuhkan sebanyak 15.984.888,58 kg/hari. Pabrik beroperasi secara kontinyu selama 24 jam/hari, 300 hari operasi/tahun. Efisiensi dan optimisasi proses yang dilakukan adalah dengan mengganti penggunaan jenis filter. Dengan jumlah waste yang keluar dari frame filter sebelum dilakukan optimasi dan efisiensi sebesar 1.664,57 kg/hari. Sedangkan jumlah waste setelah mengganti penggunaan jenis filter (mikrofilter) sebesar 49.082,40 kg/hari. Didapatkan analisa ekonomi terhadap pendirian pabrik natrium klorida yaitu nilai IRR 45,57%, POT 2,85 tahun, BEP 31,89%, serta NVP sebesar Rp 180.992.007.896.

Industrial salt needs are increasing every year and are not comparable with industrial salt production in Indonesia. So that the import value of industrial salt in Indonesia is relatively increasing every year. Based on data from the 2018 (BPS), importsof Sodium Chloride in Indonesia have increased. Estimated Need for Import of Sodium Chloride in 2023 reaches 3,131,090 tons / year, thus providing an opportunity to establish a Sodium Chloride plant. The process of making Sodium Chloride by the Norbert Rilleux method is divided into three stages. The first stage is the raw material purification stage where the raw material used is in the form of seawater with NaCl concentration of 3,05%, then reacting the seawater with NaOH, Na2CO3, and BaCl2 in the reactor to bind dissolved substances. And then flowed to the floculator tank to remove impurities in sea water. The second stage is the evaporation stage that occurs in the evaporator and drying in the rotary dryer. And the third stage is the product control stage. At this stage consists of refining, sifting and packaging processes. The resulting sodium chloride measures 80 mesh which is then stored in a storage tank. The plant's production capacity is 180,000 tons / year and the raw material needed is 15.984.888,58 kg/day. The plant operates continuously for 24 hours/day, 300 operating days/year. The efficiency and optimization process carried out is by changing the use of the type of filter. With the amount of waste that comes out of the frame filter before optimization and efficiency is 1,664.57 kg/day. Meanwhile, the amount of waste after replacing the filter type (microfilter) is 49,082.40 kg/day. Obtained an economic analysis of the establishment of a sodium chloride plant, the IRR value of 45,57%, POT of 2.85 years, BEP of 31.89%, and NVP of Rp. 180.992.007.896.
