Abstract

hasilnya.

Energy demand is increasing every year, especially in the developing oil and gas industry.
This causes insufficient energy supply. One of the energy processing processes is the use of
heat transfer phenomena. Heat exchanger is a device used for heat transfer processes
involving two or more liquids with different temperatures. There are several types of heat
exchangers, one of which is oftenused are shell and tube types. The problem that often occurs
in heat exchangers is the formation of fouling. Mixing the wrong crude oil or mixing it in the
wrong order can hinder heat transfer. Based on the fouling problem in the heat exchanger.
So, in this final project, a research is conducted on selecting the best crude blend to minimize
by optimizing it using the Killer whale algorithm method. In this study, the crude oil used,
among others, Tapis 1983, Miri Light 1983, Bintulu 2001 and Dulang 1983, obtained data
that has been carried out on the optimization of the value of 1.25E-04 m2K/w for the E-1103
unit while for the E-1105 unit. of 1.055E-04 m2K/w, and the best crude oil used is filtered
1983 filtered value with a value of 99.99% for the heat exchanger unit E-1103 and for the
heat exchanger unit E-1105 also obtained the largest percentage in the 1983 filter with a
value of 100% . Then the Reynold number (Res), Prandtl number (Prs), wall temperature
and mass flow rate will affect the value flowing on the shell and tube side. The smaller or
minimum the value, the better the result
