Abstract

Kafe seringkali digunakan sebagai tempat berkumpul bersama teman,
melakukan berbagai kegiatan, maupun menikmati makanan dan minuman. Berbagai
konsep kafe terus berkembang dari zaman ke zaman, salah satunya yang banyak
diminati adalah kafe dengan konsep boardgame. Boardgame cafe adalah kafe yang
menyediakan papan permainan bagi pengunjungnya. Salah satu boardgame cafe
terkenal di Makassar adalah Pandora yang menyediakan berbagai makanan dan
minuman boardgame dengan berbagai ukuran. Pandora memiliki furnitur berbentu
persegi panjang dengan ukuran 110 cm x 80 cm yang memenuhi kapasitas enam
hingga delapan orang. Banyaknya jumlah pengunjung yang datang, membuat ukuran
meja yang disediakan tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengunjung. Jika pengunjung
datang melebihi kapasistas maka meja akan penuh dengan makanan yang dipesan
sehingga mengganggu jalannya permainan. Selain itu, selama masa pandemi
membuat pengunjung pada sebuah kafe harus memiliki jarak satu sama lain sehingga
meja yang diperlukan akan semakin banyak. Berdasarkan beberapa permasalahan
yang telah dijabarkan sebelumnya perlu adanya penelitian pengembangan desain
furnitur untuk Pandora boardgame cafe dengan konsep modular. Konsep modular
memungkinkan untuk penyesuaian furnitur dengan jumlah pengunjung yang datang.
Selain itu, variasi modul juga bisa diterapkan pada tinggi furnitur sehingga masing -
masing meja memiliki dua ketinggian. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengatur peletakan
papan permainan serta makanan dan minuman supaya terpisah dan tidak mengganggu
jalannya permainan. Berkaitan dengan masa pandemi, pengembangan desain juga
perlu memperhatikan pembatas antar pengunjung serta pemilihan material furnitur
yang digunakan untuk meminimalisir penyebaran virus covid-19. Diharapkan dengan
adanya penelitian ini, dapat terwujud desain furnitur hemat ruang pada Pandora
boardgame cafe dengan konsep modular yang dapat mempertimbangkan kondisi
wabah virus covid-19 saat ini.

Cafes are often used as places to hang out with friends, do various activities, or enjoy
food and drinks at the cafe. Various cafe concepts were continued to evolve from time
to time, one of the most popular cafe is with the boardgame concept that provides
board games for visitors. One of the famous boardgame cafes in Makassar is
Pandora. Pandora provides a variety of food and drink board games of various sizes.
Pandora has rectangular shaped furniture measuring 110 cm x 80 cm which can
accommodate a capacity of six to eight people. The large number of variations in the
number of visitors who come, makes the size of the tables provided not in accordance
with visitor needs. Sometimes the number of visitors who come is less than the table
capacity, but if the visitors come in large numbers, the table will be full of food
ordered so that it interferes with the game. In addition, during the pandemic, visitors
to a cafe must have a distance from each other so that more tables are needed.
Therefore, based on the problems that have been previously described, it is necessary
to research the development of furniture designs for the Pandora boardgame cafe
with a modular concept. The modular concept allows for matching furniture to the
number of visitors who come. In addition, module variations can also be applied to
the height of the furniture so that each table has two heights. This aims to regulate the
placement of the game board and food and drink so that it is separate and does not
interfere with the game. In connection with the pandemic period, design development
also needs to pay attention to the boundaries between visitors and the selection of
furniture materials used to minimize the spread of the Covid-19 virus. It is hoped that
with this research, space-saving furniture designs can be realized at the Pandora

conditions of the Covid-19 virus outbreak.
