Abstract

The development of bike-sharing systems (BSS) has led to an increased number of cycling communities worldwide. The popularity of BSS has led many countries to create many bike-sharing programs. The data gathered by the Bike-Sharing Blog (2018) shows that the number of BSS programs has increased from only 855 programs in 2014 to 1608 programs in 2018 worldwide. Although its popularity is increasing, the implementation of BSS in developing countries has several problems, including the lack of infrastructure and the uncertain fare set by the businesses. BSS in Surabaya has the same problem that occurred. An interview was conducted to oversee this problem, and the result of the interview may intervene in the willingness of the customer to pay and use for such services. This research will focus on analyzing customer willingness-to-use the bike-sharing system applications. This research utilizes agent-based simulation as the medium of the simulation modeling and uses Taguchi design as the DOE method. The result of the DOE shows that there are no statistically significant factors based on ANOVA test, but each factor produces one level which is deemed to be the most influencing level for that factor.
