Abstract

World Health Organization pada tanggal 12 Maret 2020 menyatakan bahwa virus COVID-19 menjadi sebuah pandemi dikarenakan penyebaran atau outbreak dari COVID-19 sudah terjadi secara global, termasuk Indonesia, dan sudah mempengaruhi sektor lain diluar dari kesehatan. Menanggapi status COVID-19 yang merupakan pandemi, pemerintah Indonesia pun memberi himbauan untuk melakukan self-quarantine, hal ini membuat banyak perusahaan yang menerapkan remote working. Penerapan remote working akan memaksa perusahaan-perusahaan untuk mengadopsi TI dalam pelaksanaannya, akan tetapi adopsi TI seringkali mengalamai penolakan, dinilai memiliki dampak positif yang belum jelas dan seringkali tidak memuaskan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja yang dapat mempengaruhi adopsi TI, seperti faktor teknologi, faktor organisasi, dan faktor eksternal atau lingkungan. Setelah mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi keputusan adopsi TI, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana dampak dari adopsi TI terhadap kinerja perusahaan multinasional dalam kondisi pandemi. Penelitian yang dilakukan akan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Studi literatur terkait adopsi teknologi informasi yang meliputi faktor-faktor adopsi teknologi informasi dan bagaimana adopsi teknologi informasi memberikan dampak terhadap kinerja perusahaan multinasional dilakukan untuk membuat proposisi-proposisi pada penelitian ini. Setelah proposisi-proposisi yang dibentuk, kemudian pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode interview semi-struktur yang dilakukan dengan manajemen puncak, serta pemangku-pemangku kepentingan lain yang berhubungan dan dibutuhkan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan faktor teknologi, organisasi, dan lingkungan mempengaruhi adopsi teknologi informasi pada perusahaan multinasional, dan adopsi teknologi informasi memberikan dampak positif terhadap kinerja perusahaan multinasional pada saat terjadi pandemi. Penelitian ini memberikan theoretical dan practical recommendation kepada perusahaan multinasional terkait faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi adopsi teknologi informasi serta dampak adopsi teknologi informasi terhadap kinerja perusahaan multinasional saat terjadi pandemi.

March 12, 2020, WHO stated the COVID-19 virus became a pandemic because the spread or outbreak of COVID-19 had occurred globally, including in Indonesia, and had affected other sectors outside of health. In response to the status of COVID-19, which is a pandemic, the Indonesian government also appealed to self-quarantine, which has made many companies implement remote working. The implementation of remote working will force companies to adopt IT in their operations. Still, the adoption of IT is often rejected, considered to have a positive impact that is not clear, and often unsatisfactory. The purpose of this study is to determine what factors can influence IT adoption, such as technological factors, organizational factors, and external or environmental factors. After knowing the factors that influence IT adoption decisions, this study aims to find out how the impact of IT adoption on the performance of multinational companies in a pandemic condition. The research carried out will use qualitative methods with a case study approach. Literature study related to the adoption of information technology which includes the factors of adoption of information technology and how the adoption of information technology has an impact on the performance of multinational companies, is carried out to make propositions in this study. After making the propositions, data collection will use a semi-structured interview method with top management and other relevant and needed stakeholders. This study indicates that technological, organizational, and environmental factors influenced the adoption of information technology in multinational companies. Furthermore, Information technology adoption positively impacts the performance of multinational companies during a pandemic. This study provides theoretical and practical recommendations to multinational companies regarding what factors influence the adoption of information technology and the impact of information technology adoption on the performance of multinational companies during a pandemic.
