Abstract

Ruang publik sebagai salah satu elemen kota memiliki peranan penting terhadap kualitas sosial dan lingkungan sebuah kota. Pada tugas akhir ini, kajian berfokus pada permasalahan ruang publik di Pamekasan. Konteks tempat tersebut menjadi batasan kajian sehingga permasalahan menjadi lebih spesifik. Penemuan permasalahan didasarkan pada opini masyarakat secara langsung melalui metode kuesioner. Melaui evaluasi teori place-making, permasalahan rancangan ruang publik di Pamekasan berkaitan dengan image dan uses. Pemilihan tapak yang memiliki bangunan eksisting yang memiliki cerita serta memori bagi masyarakat menjadi salah satu cara untuk menghasilkan ruang yang aktif dan berkelanjutan. Sedangkan program rancangan berupa community hub sebagai respon terhadap aktivitas serta kebutuhan masyarakat di ruang publik. Program bertujuan untuk menghasilkan ruang yang dapat meningkatkan ekonomi kota serta mengaktifkan aktivitas fisik bagi kesehatan masyarakat. Untuk merespon konteks dan permasalahan, maka pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu social sustainability. Pendekatan tersebut memperhatikan aspek-aspek kebutuhan masyarakat, pola aktivitas dan perilaku, serta hubungan antara manusia dan lingkungannya. Melalui pendekatan tersebut rancangan memiliki fokusan terhadap eksplorasi aktivitas, preferensi, serta pola hubungan manusi dengan tapak. Sehingga dengan aspek-aspek tersebut diharapkan dapat menghasilkan ruang yang berkelanjutan. Kata kunci: Pamekasan, Ruang Publik, Social Sustainability

Public space as an element of the city has an important role in the social and environmental quality of the city. In this final project, the study focuses on the problem of public space in Pamekasan. The context of the place is a limitation of the study so that the problem becomes more specific. The problem finding is based on public opinion through the questionnaire method. Based on place-making theory evaluation, the problems of public space design in Pamekasan are related to image and uses. The stories and memories of the site become one of strategy to produce an active and sustainable space. The design program is a community hub as a response to the activities and needs of the community in public spaces. That program aims to produce spaces that can improve the city's economy and activate physical activity for public health. To respond to the context and problems, the design uses a social sustainability approach. This approach has 3 important aspects, including of community needs, patterns of activity and behavior, and the relationship between humans and their environment. Through this approach, the design focuses on exploring activities, preferences, and patterns of human relations with the site.
