Abstract

Solar tracker system is a device to optimize the reception of solar energy in photovoltaic using sensors to align in the direction of the sunlight. This research aims to design a solar tracker with 4 LDR sensors. The four LDR sensors will detect the sun from west, east, north, and south. Fuzzy ant colony controller based control is applied to improve its response to the direction of rays. The results show that the best performance index for steady state error, rise time, settling time, and maximum overshoot on the set point test using FACC are 0.5%, 4.39 seconds, 4 seconds, and 0% at 10.00 o’clock for the pitch axis, and at 14.00 for the yaw axis with 0.24%, 0.68 seconds, 0.23 seconds, and 0%. The FACC system increases photovoltaic performance to 49.2%, while the FLC system produces photovoltaic performance of 47.7% compared to photovoltaic in a fixed state.
