Abstract

Sektor industri alas kaki di Indonesia memiliki jumlah yang cukup besar. Persaingan antara sentra industri alas kaki di dalam dan di luar negeri menyebabkan banyak sentra industri di Indonesia terpaksa tutup terutama sentra industri pada tingkat menegah sampai sentra industri rumahan. Salah satu sentra bisnis alas kaki sepatu dan sandal yang terkenal di Sidoarjo berada di Desa Wedoro. Sentra industri alas kaki Wedoro terlihat sepi pengunjung dan beberapa toko tutup permanen. Padahal industri alas kaki di desa Wedoro merupakan sentra yang potensial untuk terus dikembangkan sebagai salah satu penggerak ekonomi Sidoarjo.
Solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan membuat tempat atau fasilitas yang mampu mendukung perkembangan sektor industri alas kaki di Wedoro dengan memberdayakan perajin serta menarik minat pengunjung dan kaum muda untuk terus melestarikan sentra industri. Rancangan yang disusulkan berupa bangunan Pusat Komunitas.
Pada rancangan Community Center akan menggunakan pendekatan metafora dengan menggunakan intangible metaphor berupa semangat masyarakat disana yang masih ingin memperjuangkan sentra industri alas kaki dan tangible metaphor yang merepresentasikan kekhasan Sidoarjo yaitu tari Banjar Kemuning.

The footwear industry sector in Indonesia has a fairly large number. Competition between the footwear industry centers in the country and abroad has caused many industrial centers in Indonesia to be forced to close, especially industrial centers at the middle level and home industry. One of the well-known shoes and sandals footwear business centers in Sidoarjo is Wedoro Village. Wedoro footwear industry looks deserted and some shops are permanently closed. In fact, the footwear industry center in Wedoro village has a potential to continue to be developed as one of the economic drivers of Sidoarjo.
The solution to overcome these problems is to create a place or facility that is able to support the development of the footwear industry sector in Wedoro by empowering crafters, attracting visitors and young people to continue to preserve the industrial center. The proposed design object is a Community Center building.
The Community Center design will use a metaphorical approach by using intangible metaphors in the form of the enthusiasm of the people there who still want to fight for the footwear industry center and tangible metaphors that represent the uniqueness of Sidoarjo, namely the Banjar Kemuning dance.
