Abstract
Kondisi air limbah pertambangan umumnya mengandung banyak residu tersuspensi yang melampaui baku mutu kualitas air sehingga dapat mencemari lingkungan perairan. Settling pond pada area konsesi PKP2B KW.04PB0210 milik PT Wahana Baratama Mining berfungsi untuk menjaga kualitas air limbah agar tetap sesuai dengan standart baku mutu sebelum di buang ke badan perairan. Salah satu upaya untuk memantau kondisi kualitas lingkungan perairan adalah melalui biota akuatik, seperti fitoplankton. Karena sifatnya yang sensitif terhadap perubahan, keberadaan fitoplankton ini erat kaitannya dengan penentuan kualitas perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai indeks saprobik fitoplankton pada masing-masing sungai yang terpengaruh aktivitas tambang melalui outlet Setlling pond PT. Wahana Baratama Mining dan kondisi kualitas perairannya, serta kondisi komunitas fitoplankton di ketiga sungai tersebut dibandingkan dengan sungai yang tidak terdampak pembuangan outlet Setlling pond PT. Wahana Baratama Mining. Data yang digunakan adalah data serial hasil pemantauan spesies fitoplankton yang dilaksanakan pada tahun 2017 hingga 2020 di keempat sungai pada area konsesi PKP2B KW.04PB0210 milik PT Wahana Baratama Mining. Diperoleh total 33 genus dari enam periode pengamatan yang terdiri dari kelompok Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Euglenophyceae, Dinophyceae, dan Xanthophyceaea. Indeks saprobik menunjukkan tingkat saprobitas perairan berada pada kondisi β-mesosaprobik hingga α-mesosaprobik dengan nilai SI berkisar antara 2,17 hingga -2,0. Kualitas keempat badan perairan tergolong tercemar ringan hingga sedang berdasarkan nilai H’ yang berkisar antara 1,1 hingga 2,1.

Mining wastewater generally contains many suspended residues that exceed water quality standards that can pollute the aquatic environment. Settling pond in the consension area PKP2B KW.04PB0210 of PT Wahana Baratama Mining serves to maintain the quality of wastewater to meet the quality standards before disposing of to the body of water. One of the ways to monitor the environmental quality of waters is through aquatic biota, such as phytoplankton. Phytoplankton are sensitive to alteration in their habitats, therefore the presence of phytoplankton is closely related to water quality. This study aims to determine the value of phytoplankton saprobic index in each river affected by mining activity through settling pond outlets of PT. Wahana Baratama Mining and their water quality conditions. In addition, this study also analyze the condition of phytoplankton communities in all three rivers compared to rivers that are not affected by the disposal of PT. Baratama Mining’s setlling pond outlets. The data used are serial data from monitoring the phytoplankton species conducted in 2017 to 2020 at four rivers in the consension area PKP2B KW.04PB0210 of PT Wahana Baratama Mining. A total of 33 genera were obtained from six observation periods consisting of the Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Euglenophyceae, Dinophyceae, and Xanthophyceaea groups. The saprobic index shows the level of water pollution is in β-mesosaprobic conditions up to α-mesosaprobik with values ranged from 2,17 to -2,0. The quality of the water is classified as slightly polluted to moderate polluted based on H’ values ranged from 1,1 to 2,1.
