Abstract

Since the COVID-19 Pandemic in Indonesia, Ministry of Education and Culture has made online learning policies at all levels of education, including universities. In general, there are many problems faced by the parties involved in the teaching process during the pandemic. The weakness of online learning, especially for engineering students is difficult to practice. In addition, many common factors such as signal constraints and unstable network greatly affect the learning process. Online learning raises several opinions and may affect the capabilities of online learning. To find this out, sentiment analysis is carried out using sentiment word calculations and process capability analysis using x -R control chart and process capability index. After sentiment analysis, there were 58% of students expressing opinions with negative sentiments, 28%, positive sentiments and 14% neutral sentiments from a sample of 86 FTIRS-ITS students. In addition, by using the t-test, social studies in online learning increased significantly by 12%, from the average social studies offline learning, which was 3.14 to 3.52 when learning online. However, offline and online learning shows that it is not capable even though the process is under control because the Cp is less than one or the Cpk is less than one. Even so, the highest Cp index was achieved by the Department of Physics Engineering, which was 2.032
