Abstract

Seismic data interpretation has various methods that can be used according to their respective objectives. In this study, the amplitude versus angle (AVA) anomaly scoring method was used to identify the hydrocarbon prospect zone with two screening stages: DHI screening on the full-angle stack amplitude model and AVA anomaly screening. The AVA anomaly was obtained from the AVA analysis using the amplitude response to changes in the angle of the seismic data associated with the presence of hydrocarbon fluids in the reservoir. The scoring method was carried out on four types of data, namely full-stack map data, seismic section data, AVA map data on five sub-stacks, and seismic gather data. This research was conducted in the “R” shallow zone field, East Kalimantan with a reservoir target from the very shallow zone to the upper zone. The data used in this study are corrected 3D Pre-Stack Depth Migration Seismic data, well data equipped with checkshot data and stratigraphic sequence markers, and the results of AVA analysis in the "R" shallow zone field. The results of this study are 164 anomalies with a total of 44 anomalies in the low confidence category, in the mid confidence category with 92 anomalies, and the high confidence category with 28 anomalies. Based on the correlation of anomalies with the well data, the zone that has hydrocarbon prospects is in the crestal area with the percentage of hydrocarbons in the high confidence, mid confidence, and low confidence categories of 100%, 86%, 100%, respectively, with the category having the highest percentage of hydrocarbons in the “R” shallow zone field is a category of high confidence with a percentage of 80%. Therefore, the anomalies found in the hydrocarbon prospect zone are 0-2 C, 1-4 B, 1-11 C, 1-12 E, 2-5 C, 3-1 C, 3-5 B, 4-1 C.
