Abstract

Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) is a special flow that has recently been studied. Magnetohydrodynamic flow studies the flow of flyids which are influenced by magnetic fields and can conduct electricity. In this study, it will be discussed related to the convection flow of a viscoelastic fluid mixture passing through a sliced solid sphere influenced by a magnetic field. The builder’s equations are constructed from the equations of continuity, momentum, and energy. The viscoelastic fluid flow flows from below and passes through a solid sliced ball which then creates a boundary layer. The boundary layer equation is then transformed into a non-dimensional form using a non-dimensional variable and then converted to asimilarity equation using a flow function. The similarity equation is then solved numerically using the Keller-Box method. The numerical results obtained are in the form of temperature and fluid velocity profiles with variations in magnetic parameters, convection parameters, viscoelastic parameters, prandtl numbers, and variations in the angle of the sphere slice. The results of numerical simulations show that the greater the convection parameer, the magnetic parameter, and the angle of the sphere slice, the more the velocity profile increases or directly proportional, while for the viscoelastic parameter and the prandtl number it is inversely proportional to the velocity profile. For the temperature profile increases or is directly proportional, while the magnetic parameter, convection parameter, prandtl number, and the variation of the slice angle are inversely proportional.
