Abstract

Isu perkembangan anak banyak terjadi di kehidupan sehari-hari, khususnya pada keluarga miskin. Hal ini telah menjadi sebuah rantai dalam kehidupan masyarakat yang disebabkan oleh ketidakmampuan diri seseorang untuk mencapai kehidupan yang lebih baik. Masalah ini banyak dijumpai di kota besar dengan penduduk yang padat, seperti kawasan pusat Kota Surabaya. Dibutuhkanlah suatu solusi untuk memutus rantai tersebut khususnya bagi generasi penerus agar mampu membawa dirinya keluar dari rantai kemiskinan. Karena itu, hadirlah Rumah Anak Tunjungan sebagai solusi dengan menciptakan ruang ekplorasi dan pengembangan diri anak.
Upaya yang dilakukan akan berfokus pada pendekatan psikologi anak dengan mempertimbangkan teori-teori psikologi, seperti Teori Perkembangan Kognitif dan Teori Kecerdasan Majemuk. Setelah itu, teori tersebut akan diterjemahkan menjadi konsep-konsep yang mempertimbangkan pengalaman ruang pada anak, yaitu inner space, physiographic space, dan social space, melalui metode Environmental Experience Design.
Konsep tersebut diintegerasikan dengan sintesa tapak sehingga menghasilkan penataan massa, konsep latar ruang terbuka serta interior, dan konsep detail yang mencakup affordance dan fitur lainnya sesuai dengan kebutuhan anak demi menunjang kegiatan eksplorasi dan pengembangan diri anak.

The issue of child development has occurred in our daily life, especially in poor families. The phenomenon of poverty has become a cycle in social life caused by an inability to achieve a better quality of life. This can be found in large cities with dense populations, such as the central area of Surabaya. A solution is needed to break the cycle, especially for future generations to be able to bring themselves out of the poverty cycle. Therefore, Rumah Anak Tunjungan is made as a solution by creating a space for children's self-development and exploration.
The efforts in this design will focus on children's psychological approaches by considering psychological theories, such as he Theory of Cognitive Development and The Theory of Multiple Intelligences. After that, the theory will be translated into concepts that consider children's spatial experiences, namely inner space, physiographic space, and social space, through the Environmental Experience Design method.
This concept is integrated with site synthesis to produce a mass arrangement, the concept of outdoor space, interior, and detailed concepts that include affordance and other features according to children's needs in order to support children's exploration and self-development activities.
