Abstract

Situs Kumitir ditemukan dalam keadaan tertimbun oleh banyaknya boulder-boulder, batu, dan endapan lainnya. Adanya bongkahan batuan beku yang menimbun situs ini membuat kondisinya sedikit berbeda dari situs-situs di sekitarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui lingkungan pengendapan pada wilayah penelitian. Metode yang digunakan dengan pengumpulan data lapangan, serta tahap pengolahan data berupa analisis granulometri di labolatorium. Dalam studi ini 66 sampel tanah diambil pada 5 titik yang mewakili wilayah Situs Kumitir. Proses analisis ukuran butir sampel sedimen dibantu dengan perangkat lunak Gradistat. Didapatkan nilai rata-rata dari mean yaitu 2.860 phi yang mana wilayah penelitian didominasi oleh butiran berukuran pasir sedang, pasir sangat halus dan lanau. Nilai rata-rata dari sortasi yaitu 1.986 phi dengan dominasi pemilahan sangat buruk. Pada nilai skewness dengan rata-rata nilai sebesar 0.169 yang mendominasi sebaran sedimen di daerah ini bernilai positif (fine skewed) dan symmetrical. Lalu untuk kurtosis dengan rata-rata nilai sebesar 0.966 didominasi oleh platykurtik dan leptokurtik. Plot bivariat menunjukkan sifat fluvial dari sedimen yang diendapkan dengan kondisi energi rendah hingga sedang. Penentuan jenis lingkungan pengendapan daerah penelitian memakai penentuan analisis ukuran butir (granulometri) dan didukung dengan analisis pengukuran stratigrafi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, daerah penelitian berada pada lingkungan pengendapan area distal kipas aluvial serta mekanisme sedimentasi yang didominasi proses rolling dan suspension. Hasil dari penelitian ini mendukung dan mulai menjawab pertanyaan mengenai penyebab terpendamnya Situs Kumitir yaitu diakibatkan oleh endapan sedimen yang terbawa aliran kipas aluvial.

The Kumitir Site was found buried by many boulders, rocks, and other deposits. The presence of boulders that fills on this site makes the conditions slightly different from another sites. This study aims to determine the depositional environment in the research area. The method used is field data collection, as well as the data processing in the form of granulometric analysis in the laboratory. In this study there are 66 soil samples from 5 points representing the Kumitir Site area. The process of analyzing the grain size of sediment samples is assisted by Gradistat software. The average value of the mean is 2.860 phi, where the research area is dominated by medium sand, very fine sand and silt. The mean value of sorting is 1.986 phi with the predominance of poorly sorted. The skewness value with an average value of 0.169 which dominates the distribution of sediment in this area is positive (fine skewed) and symmetrical. Then for kurtosis with an average value of 0.966 with the dominance of platykurtic and leptokurtic. The bivariate plot shows the fluvial nature of the sediment deposited under low to medium energy conditions. Determination of the type of depositional environment in the study area using the determination of grain size analysis (granulometry) and supported by stratigraphic measurement analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, the research area is in the distal alluvial fan depositional area and the sedimentation mechanism is dominated by rolling and suspension processes. The results of this study support and begin to answer questions about the cause of the buried Kumitir Site, which is caused by sediment deposits carried by alluvial fan flows.
