Abstract
Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan preparasi membran keramik geopolimer berbasis metakaolin dengan memvariasikan suhu sintering yang selanjutnya digunakan dalam aplikasi filtrasi zat warna metilen biru. Variasi suhu sintering yang digunakan adalah 200, 300 dan 400 oC. Hasil analisis XRD menunjukkan pola amorf pada membran keramik geopolimer. Spektra FTIR menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan suhu sintering tidak mengubah struktur membran geopolimer. Pori yang dihasilkan merupakan pori makro dengan ukuran 35-552,5 ; 39-328 ; dan 58 - 155 µm, masing – masing untuk MK-200, MK-300, dan MK-400. Membran yang dihasilkan memiliki permeabilitas 10,5; 9,77; dan 8,83 L.m-2.jam-1 dengan rejeksi metilen biru 52,0; 62,0 dan 91,0 %, berturut-turut untuk MK-200, MK-300, dan MK-400. Pada variasi yang dilakukan, suhu sintering yang lebih tinggi menghasilkan membran geopolimer yang semakin baik pula.

In this study, a metakaolin-based geopolymer ceramic membrane was prepared by varying the sintering temperature which was then used in the filtration application of methylene blue dye. The sintering temperature variations used were 200, 300 and 400 oC. The XRD analyses results showed an amorphous pattern on the geopolymer ceramic membrane. The FTIR spectra showed that increasing the sintering temperature did not change the geopolymer membrane structure. The resulting pores are macro pores with a size of 35-552,5 ; 39-328 ; and 58-155 µm, respectively. The resulting membrane has a permeability of 10,5; 9,77; and 8,83 L.m-2.hr-1 with methylene blue rejection; 52,0 ; 62,0 ; and 91,0%, respectively for MK-200, MK-300, and MK-400. In this variation, the higher sintering temperature resulted in a better geopolymer membrane.
