Abstract
Pengenalan objek pada citra banyak dimanfaatkan pada berbagai bidang. Dalam Pengenalan objek citra jalan seringkali menemui suatu masalah seperti adanya berbagai hal yang menjadi penghalang sehingga objek jalan tidak dapat dikenali dengan maksimal. Bayangan menjadi salah satu kendala yang dapat menghambat proses pengenalan objek jalan. Saat ini pengolahan citra digital berkembang pesat, sehingga memungkinkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan bayangan pada citra. Salah satu solusi dalam mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan melakukan proses reduksi bayangan. Metode Buffer Area Estimation digunakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah tesebut. Langkah pertama dari metode ini adalah melakukan segmentasi bayangan. Selanjutnya melakukan klasifikasi bayangan dan proses dilasi. Hasil dari klasifikasi bayangan dan proses dilasi kemudian diproses image substraction. Setelahnya akan dihasilkan citra area penyangga untuk proses transformasi piksel sebagai nilai kompensasi bayangan. Untuk mengetahui kualitas dari metode ini diuji dengan perhitungan nilai RMSE. Hasil citra output yang didapat memiliki nilai RMSE tertinggi 0,3673 dan terendah 0,0785.

Object recognition in images is widely used in various
fields. In the introduction of road image objects often encounter a
problem such as the existence of various things that are obstacles
so that the road object cannot be recognized optimally. Shadows
are one of the obstacles that can hinder the process of
recognizing road objects. Currently digital image processing is
growing rapidly, making it possible to overcome the problem of
shadows in the image. One solution to overcome these problems
is to perform a shadow reduction process. Buffer Area Estimation
Method used to solve the problem. The first step of this method is
to segment the shadow. Next do the shadow classification and
dilation process. The results of the shadow classification and the
dilation process are then taken a subtraction image. After that,
the image area buffer will be generated for the pixel
transformation process to compensate for the shadow value. To
determine the quality of the tested method by calculating the
RMSE value. The output image results obtained have the highest
RMSE value of 0.3673 and the lowest of 0.0785.
