Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui distribusi dan tingkat aglomerasi filler dalam sampel komposit PEG-silika berdasarkan kurva intensitas EDX. Metode penentuan puncak yang digunakan adalah prominence parentage dan encirclement. Variasi yang digunakan berupa jumlah garis, orientasi, parameter penghalusan kurva, dan metode penentuan puncak. Pengujian dilakukan terhadap gambar mapping unsur EDX sampel komposit PEG-silika. Filler silika terdiri atas fasa amorf, kuarsa, dan kristobalit. Masing-masing memiliki variasi konsentrasi 5, 10, dan 20 wt.%. Data yang dianalisis adalah data matriks gambar pada kanal warna merah yang merepresentasikan unsur Si yang juga berarti silika. Distribusi dan tingkat aglomerasi filler dinyatakan dalam bentuk indeks. Indeks dispersibilitas menyatakan tingkat keteraturan filler, sedangkan indeks aglomerasi menyatakan tingkat pengumpulan filler. Semakin kecil nilai indeks dispersibilitas, semakin baik tingkat keteraturannya. Selain itu, semakin kecil nilai indeks aglomerasi, semakin rendah tingkat pengumpulan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa indeks dispersibilitas terkecil didominasi oleh sampel amorf, dengan sampel SA 10 mendapat indeks terkecil. Sedangkan indeks aglomeritas terkecil dimiliki oleh sampel SA 20.

The research was conducted to determine the filler distribution and agglomeration level in PEG-silica composites samples based on EDX intensity curves. Methods used to determine the peaks are prominence parentage and encirclement. Variations used in the analysis include number of lines, sampling orientation, curve smoothing parameters, and peak determination techniques. Testing was carried out on EDX elemental mapping image of PEG-silica composites. The silica fillers were amorphous, quartz, and crystobalite phases. Each of them have filler concentration variations of 5, 10, and 20 wt.%. The analyzed data were image matrices data at red color channel that represents Si and hence silica. The filler distribution and agglomeration level are presented as index values. Dispersibility index shows the orderliness level of filler, while agglomeration index shows the clustering level of filler. The smaller the dispersibility index, the better the orderliness. Moreover, the smaller the agglomeration index, the lower the clustering. The analysis results show that samples with the least dispersibility index were dominated by amorphous sample, with the smallest one is SA 10 sample. Whilst smallest agglomeration index was obtained by SA 20 sample.
