Abstract

The policy of school closure due to the pandemic in Indonesia since March 2020 has resulted in a decline in the quality and essence of education for children. Based on SKB Empat Menteri in August 2020, schools have been opened in stages with various predetermined safe terms and conditions. Face-to-face learning during this pandemic raises anxiety among parents about the safety and security of their children. In this research, a simulation with an agent-based modeling approach was carried out because it was able to model a system at the individual level and capture the emergence behavior that occurred. Each student is modeled as the main agent to carry out various simulation scenarios for the implementation of face-to-face learning in schools during the Covid-19 pandemic to see the level of infection and the spread of the virus. From the simulation results, 5 simulation parameters are obtained which then become safety factors for conducting safety analysis. From the results of the safety analysis using the FTA and FMEA methods, it is known the Criticality and RPN (Risk Priority Number) values of each parameter. Based on the Criticality and RPN scores, a recommendation for ideal conditions was obtained in the implementation of face-to-face learning in schools during a pandemic that ensures the safety and security of students with low and controlled levels of infection and the spreading of the viruses.
