Abstract

The increasingly rapid and widespread spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia, especially Surabaya, has made every party's plan for various activities that need to do it at home. However, as time goes by, the mortality rate due to COVID-19 in East Java Province is getting higher, with Surabaya is one of the biggest contributors to cases. This research uses medical records of COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms at the Airlangga University Hospital Surabaya. The observed variables are some of the factors that expect to affect the survival of COVID-19 patients. Those factors are age, gender, comorbidities, type of work, treatment received by patients, and type of oxygen assistance needed by COVID-19 patients. This study aims to analyze the survival of COVID- 19 patients using Cox Proportional Hazard regression with the observed failure event, namely when the patient died during the study. So, through the analysis, it is known that the oxygen assistance factor with the type of Non-Rebreathing Mask, Jackson Rees, and High Flow Nasal Cannula had a significant effect on the survival time of COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms at Airlangga University Hospital Surabaya.
