Abstract

Incorrect installation of the center deck girder connection on the deck construction located in the joint block of the patrol boat causes misalignment. Misalignment of the center deck girder can cause stress concentrations. The stresses that occur around the center deck girder have increased due to deck plate loads and the weight of the superstructure. So that a stress analysis is carried out with acceptance criteria that meets or does not meet the allowable stress classification bureau (BKI) and the IACS rules.
Calculation of stress on the center deck girder misalignment is carried out by numerical studies using the finite element method. The variations carried out are the deck structure model with the misalignment of the center deck girder on the face plate which is modeled with 11 variations of misalignment, namely 0 mm; 0,5 mm; 1 mm; 1,5 mm; 2 mm; 2,5 mm; 3 mm; 3,5 mm; 4 mm; 4,5 mm; 5 mm. The deck structure modeling for finite element calculations was carried out using finite element analysis software.
The results of the analysis show an increase in stress on variations in the center deck girder misalignment. Variations in misalignment above 3 mm produce stresses that do not meet the allowable stress of BKI and are in accordance with IACS rules No. 47. The magnitude of the voltage value generated from the model without misalignment produces a different voltage value from the misalignment model. Where the greater the misalignment that occurs, the greater the value of the resulting voltage.
