Abstract
Negara Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan dengan wilayah laut 4 kali luas daratan sehingga fungsi angkutan laut sangat penting dalam pembangunan. Transprotasi laut merupakan salah satu subsektor transportasi yang turut menjadi bagian penting dalam menunjang aktivitas masyarakat kepulauan. Hal ini juga menjadi salah satu sasaran dalam peningkatkan perekonomian nasional dalam menunjang perdagangan antar pulau, namun pengiriman dengan menggunakan tranportasi laut semakin berkurang karena durasi pengiriman yang terlalu lama menyebabkan penurunan kualitas barang. Sirkulasi udara dari ruang muat merupakan hal yang penting dalam kapal. Sehingga tujuan dari peneliatan ini diharapkan dapat menghasilkan sebuah indirect evaporative cooling dalam sistem ventilasi pada ruang muat agar dapat menghasilkan temperature udara cukup baik di dalam ruang muat tersebut

Indonesia is an archipelagic country with a sea area 4 times the land area so that the function of sea transportation is very important in development. Sea transportation is one of the transportation sub-sectors that is also an important part in supporting the activities of the archipelagic community. This is also one of the targets in improving the national economy in supporting inter-island trade, but shipping using sea transportation is decreasing because the shipping duration is too long causing a decrease in the quality of goods. Air circulation from the cargo hold is important in the ship. So the purpose of this research is expected to produce an indirect evaporative cooling in the ventilation system in the cargo hold so that it can produce a fairly good air temperature in the cargo space.
