Abstract
Bambu laminasi merupakan bahan alternatif pengganti kayu solid sebagai material utama kapal.
Dengan digunakannya bambu laminasi sebagai material konstruksi kapal, bambu laminasi akan
terpapar cuaca secara langsung dan juga akan sering terkena atau bahkan terendam oleh air laut.
Hal tersebut dapat mempercepat pertumbuhan mikroorganisme dan jamur pada bambu yang
dapat mengurangi kekuatan bambu. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan
untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengawetan bambu menggunakan Natrium Hipoklorit (NaOCl)
terhadap kekuatan tarik dan kekuatan tekuk laminasi bilah bambu yang telah mendapatkan
perlakuan cuaca dan perendaman dengan air laut. Uji kekuatan tarik menggunakan standar
ASTM D3500 dan Pengujian tekuk menggungkan standar ASTM D3043 dilakukan terhadap
spesimen bambu laminasi yang sudah mendapat perlakuan cuaca dan perendaman dengan air
laut selama 2, 4, 6, dan 8 minggu. Berdasarkan pengujian didapatkan pengawetan bambu
laminasi dapat meningkatkan kekuatan tarik dan tekuk bambu laminasi. Berdasarkan pengujian
tarik, pengawetan dapat menambah usia guna sebesar 70% untuk material yang mendapat
perlakuan perendaman dengan air laut, 66% untuk material yang mendapat perlakuan cuaca,
dan 90% untuk material yang disimpan di ruang tertutup. Sedangkan berdasarkan kekuatan
tekuknya, usia guna material bertambah 207% untuk perlakuan perendaman air laut. Disamping
itu usia guna material yang disimpan pada ruang tertutup bertambah 176%. Sedangkan material
yang mendapat perlakuan cuaca usia guna nya bertambah 347% berdasarkan kekuatan
tekuknya. Biaya produksi kapal wisata penyebrangan ukuran 10 meter berbahan laminasi bilah
bambu memerlukan penambahan biaya sebesar 0,9% untuk proses pengawetan.

Laminated bamboo is an alternative material to replace solid wood as the main material for
ships. With the use of laminated bamboo as a ship construction material, laminated bamboo
will be directly exposed to the weather and will also be exposed to or even sutperged by sea
water. This can accelerate the growth of microorganisms and fungi on bamboo which can
reduce the strength of the bamboo. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of
preserving bamboo using sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) on the tensile strength and bending
strength of bamboo laminates that have been weathered and immersed in sea water. Tensile
strength test using ASTM D3500 standard and bending test with ASTM D3043 standard, was
carried out on laminated bamboo specimens that had been weathered and immersed in sea water
for 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. Based on the test, it was found that preservation of laminated bamboo
can increase tensile strength, and its bending strength. Curing will increase the useful life by
70% for materials that are immersed in sea water, 66% for materials that are weathered, and
90% for materials stored in closed spaces based on their tensile strength. Meanwhile, based on
its bending strength, the useful life of the material is increased by 207% for the treatment of sea
water immersion. Besides, the useful life of the materials stored in closed spaces inreased by
176%. And the material which is subjected to weathering ages its usefulness increases by 347%
based on its bending strength. The production cost of a 10 meter laminated bamboo crossing
tour boat requires an additional cost of 0,9% for the preservation process.
