Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas tentang perhitungan fungsi reliability dan availability sistem feed water di PT PJB UP Paiton Unit 1 & 2. Sistem feed water merupakan proses air kondensat yang ada di deaerator yang dipompakan menuju steam drum boiler oleh boiler feed pump dengan melewati pemanas air tekanan tinggi. Struktur sistem feed water terdiri dari enam subsistem serial dengan salah satu subsistem boiler feed pump memiliki struktur K-out-of-N cold standby. Pendekatan gabungan (hybrid) metode analitik dan simulasi kejadian diskrit digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Metode analitik dengan distribusi phase-type (PH) dan model state space digunakan untuk mendapatkan fungsi reliability, sedangkan metode simulasi kejadian diskrit digunakan untuk mendapatkan availability sistem. Model state space dengan distribusi PH memungkinkan untuk memodelkan subsistem boiler feed pump menggunakan general standby system yaitu hot, cold, warm, atau gabungannya sebagai salah satu upaya untuk peningkatan reliability dan availability sistem feed water. Hasil penelitian dalam bentuk fungsi reliability dan availability tidak hanya memberikan informasi mean time saja namun juga variance, standard deviation, dan coefficient of variation dari time to failure, serta fungsi hazard. Selain itu juga dilakukan eksperimentasi tiga skenario perubahan dan atau penambahan unit standby untuk meningkatkan reliability sistem sehingga target availability sistem feed water dapat tercapai. Skenario yang direkomendasikan yaitu menambah satu unit cold standby pada subsistem boiler feed pump.

This study discusses the calculation of the reliability and availability of the feed water system at PT PJB UP Paiton Unit 1 & 2. The feed water system is a process of condensate water in the deaerator which is pumped into the steam drum boiler by the boiler feed pump by passing through a high-pressure water heater. The feed water system structure consists of six serial subsystems with one of the boiler feed pump subsystems having a K-out-of-N cold standby structure. A hybrid approach of analytical methods and discrete event simulation is used in this study. Analytical methods with phase-type (PH) distribution and state-space models are used to obtain the reliability function, while discrete event simulation methods are used to obtain system availability. The state-space model with PH distribution makes it possible to model the boiler feed pump subsystem using a general standby system, namely hot, cold, warm, or a combination of them as an effort to increase the reliability and availability of the feed water system. The research results in the form of reliability and availability functions provide information on the mean time and the variance, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation from time to failure, as well as the hazard function. In addition, three scenarios of changes and/or addition of standby units were also carried out to improve system reliability so that the target for the availability of the feed water system could be achieved. The recommended scenario is to add one cold standby unit to the boiler feed pump subsystem.
