Abstract

Pengukuran nilai pH pada air asam tambang di Washing Plant
menggunakan kertas lakmus. Alat tersebut digunakan untuk
menampilkan skala nilai derajat keasaman dalam suatu larutan. Namun,
alat tersebut tidak bisa digunakan untuk melakukan kontrol pH pada air
asam tambang secara cepat dan berkelanjutan yang dibutuhkan untuk
mengoptimalkan kinerja dari Washing Plant.
Sistem kontrol pH digunakan sebagai sistem kontrol kandungan
pH pada air asam tambang di Washing Plant, dimana derajat keasaman
pada air asam tambang yang ditampung didalam Thickener akan dikontrol
agar selalu memiliki nilai rentang 6,5 sampi dengan 7,5. Sistem kontrol
pH bekerja dengan mengukur nilai pH pada air asam tambang
menggunakan modul sensor pH dan kontrol proporsional. Data tersebut
kemudian digunakan sebagai pemicu untuk mengaktifkan four-channel
relay dan kontaktor agar pompa kapur dapat bekerja menyuplai larutan
kapur kedalam Thickener sehingga kandungan asam dapat berkurang dan
menaikkan nilai pH.
Dari pengujian yang telah dilakukan, didapatkan bahwa sistem
dapat melakukan kontrol pH dengan mempertahankan nilai pH pada
rentang 6,5 sampai dengan 7,5 dengan nilai selisih maksimal sebesar 0,2
dari pembacaan sensor pH digital dan derau dalam kondisi tunak sebesar 0.2.

Measurement of pH value in acid mine drainage at the Washing
Plant using litmus paper. It is used to display the scale of the degree of
acidity in a liquid. However, it cannot be used to control the pH of acid
mine water quickly and continuosly which is needed to optimize the
performance of the Washing Plant.
The pH control system is used as a control system for the pH
content of acid mine drainage at the Washing Plant, where the degree of
acidity in the acid mine drainage stored in the Thickener will be
controlled so that it always has a value ranging from 6.5 to 7.5. The pH
control system works by measuring the pH value in acid mine water using
a pH sensor module and proportional control. The result then used as a
trigger to activate the four-channel relay and contactor so that the lime
pump can work supplying the lime into the Thickener so that the acid
content can be reduced and increase the pH value.
From the tests that have been carried out, it was found that the
system can control pH by maintaining the pH value in the range of 6.5 to
7.5 with a maximum difference value of 0.2 and noise in steady conditions
of 0.2.
