Abstract
Masa perkuliahan mahasiswa Departemen Teknik Sipil banyak mempelajari teori mengenai ilmu-ilmu Teknik Sipil. Selain mengerti teori – teori yang disampaikan dalam perkuliahan, mahasiswa juga dituntut agar dapat mengaplikasikan teori – teori yang telah didapatkan untuk kemudian dapat diterapkan kedalam pelaksanaan pekerjaan di lapangan. Salah satu caranya adalah dengan adanya kegiatan kerja praktik. Kerja praktik adalah salah satu mata kuliah yang wajib diikuti oleh mahasiswa semester 7 di departemen Teknik Sipil Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember sebagai salah satu persyaratan dalam menyelesaikan studi Strata (S1). Pada pelaksanaannya, kerja praktik ini dilaksanakan kurang/lebih selama 2 bulan. Dengan diadakannya program kerja praktik selama 2 bulan ini, diharapkan mahasiswa dapat ikut terlibat dalam suatu proyek, mengamati, dan mempelajari semua pekerjaan yang ada di lapangan. Selain itu juga diharapkan mahasiswa dapat memhamai hubungan antara teori yang telah diberikan pada masa perkuliahan dengan penerapannya di lapangan, juga menambah ilmu dalam proses pembangunan yang tidak didapat didalam perkuliahan di kampus. Maka dari itu dilakukan kegiatan kerja praktik yang apda kesempatan ini penulis bekerja praktik di PT. Waskita Karya yang merupakan kontraktor dalam proyek pembangunan Gedung Kampus Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII). Lingkup pekerjaan yang sedang berlangsung saat kami melakukan kerja praktek adalah pekerjaan finishing lantai, penutup plafon, dan juga pemasangan railing kaca. namun kami diberikan tugas khusus oleh penanggung jawab kami saat melakukan kegiatan kerja praktek, kami diberikan tugas untuk menganalisa pekerjaan dinding penahan tanah dan stp (sewage treatment plant).

During the lecture period, students of the Civil Engineering Department learned a lot about the theory of Civil Engineering sciences. In addition to understanding the theories presented in lectures, students are also required to be able to apply the theories that have been obtained so that they can then be applied to the implementation of work in the field. One way is through practical work activities. Practical work is one of the subjects that must be followed by 7th semester students in the Civil Engineering department of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology as one of the requirements in completing Strata (S1) studies. In practice, this practical work is carried out for approximately 2 months. By holding a practical work program for 2 months, it is hoped that students can be involved in a project, observe, and learn about all the work in the field. In addition, students are also expected to be able to understand the relationship between the theory that has been given during lectures and its application in the field, as well as add knowledge in the development process that is not obtained in lectures on campus. Therefore, practical work activities are carried out which on this occasion the author works in practice at PT. Waskita Karya which is a contractor in the construction project of the Indonesian International Islamic University (UIII) Campus Building. The scope of work that is ongoing when we do practical work is the work of finishing floors, ceiling coverings, and also installing glass railings. but we were given a special task by our person in charge when doing practical work activities, we were given the task to analyze the work of retaining walls and stp (sewage treatment plant).
