Abstract

Teknik sipil merupakan salah satu cabang ilmu teknik yang mempelajari tentang perencanaan, pembangunan, dan pemeliharaan bangunan serta infrastruktur. Mahasiswa teknik sipil harus memiliki keahlian untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses bekerja dalam proyek, mulai dari perencanaan awal, proses pembuatan jadwal, merencanakan struktur bangunan, metode konstruksi, hingga analisis keuangan. Demi meminimalisir ketidaksiapan lulusan baru dalam dunia kerja, departemen Teknik Sipil ITS Surabaya memberikan kesempatan para mahasiswa, khususnya mahasiswa semester VII untuk melaksanakan Kegiatan Magang. Dalam program Kegiatan Magang ini, penulis melakukan kegiatan magang pada Proyek Pembangunan Fasilitas Kawasan Geodiversitas LIPI Kebumen – Karangsambung, dengan kontraktor PT. Hutama Karya (Persero) Tbk.
Manfaat ilmu kebumian makin dirasa penting di saat bencana geologi makin sering mendera akhir-akhir ini seperti gempa bumi dan tsunami. Daerah Kecamatan Karangsambung, Kota Kebumen, Jawa Tengah ini memiliki aneka batuan, termasuk beberapa jenis batu mulia, batuan beku, batuan sedimen, sampai ke batuan metamorf. Dikarenakan alasan itu, pihak Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) memutuskan untuk membangun kawasan geodiversitas di Kecamatan Karangsambung ini serta ditetapkan sebagai Kawasan Cagar Alam Geologi Nasional pada tahun 2006 silam. Untuk mengembangkan fasilitas kawasan geodiversitas ini, pihak Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) memutuskan untuk melakukan pembangunan dengan nilai kontrak Surat Berharga Syariah Negara (SBSN) senilai Rp. 120.000.000.000 untuk membangun 3 gedung dengan konstruksi pendukungnya.

Civil engineering is a branch of engineering that studies the planning, construction, and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure. Civil engineering students must have the expertise to know how the process works on projects, from initial planning, the process of making schedules, planning building structures, construction methods, to financial analysis. In order to minimize the unpreparedness of new graduates in the world of work, the Civil Engineering department of ITS Surabaya provides opportunities for students, especially semester VII students to carry out Internship Activities. In this Internship program, the author conducts an internship at the LIPI Geodiversity Area Facility Development Project Kebumen – Karangsambung, with the contractor PT. Hutama Karya (Persero) Tbk.
The benefits of earth science are increasingly felt to be important at a time when geological disasters are becoming more frequent lately, such as earthquakes and tsunamis. The Karangsambung District, Kebumen City, Central Java has a variety of rocks, including several types of precious stones, igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks, to metamorphic rocks. For that reason, the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) decided to build a geodiversity area in Karangsambung District and designated it as a National Geological Nature Reserve in 2006. To develop this geodiversity area facility, the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) decided to carry out construction with a contract value of State Sharia Securities (SBSN) worth Rp. 120,000,000,000 to build 3 buildings with supporting construction.
