Abstract
Berkembangnya industri electric vehicle di Indonesia, menyebabkan kebutuhan baterai sebagai salah satu komponen utama electric vehicle meningkat. Baterai NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) merupakan salah satu jenis baterai yang digunakan untuk electric vehicle. Dalam pembuatan baterai NMC, nikel yang digunakan bukan berupa logam Ni, melainkan berupa senyawa Nickel (II) Sulphate Hexahydrate (NiSO4.6H2O). Jumlah bijih laterit yang melimpah di Indonesia dapat diolah untuk menghasilkan NiSO4.6H2O. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganilisis pengaruh variasi selisih waktu penyaringan endapan hasil netralisasi. Bahan yang digunakan adalah ferronickel hasil smelting dari mini blast furnace. Proses leaching pada ferronickel mengggunakan larutan H2SO4 2M sebanyak 120 ml, dilakukan pada temperatur 90 °C selama 6 jam dengan kecepatan pengadukan sebesar 200 rpm. Selanjutnya dilakukan proses netralisasi dengan menggunakan larutan CaCO3 sampai pH 3,01 pada temperatur 90 °C. Setelah dicapai pH 3,01, larutan hasil leaching ditahan pada temperatu 90 °C selama 24 jam dan dilakukan penyaringan endapan bertahap yang terbentuk dengan variasi 2 jam, 4 jam, 6 jam, dan 8 jam. Setelah itu, dilakukan proses kristalisasi untuk menghasilkan senyawa NiSO4.6H2O. Hasil kristalisasi selanjutnya dicuci dan dikeringkan. Hasil kristalisasi terbaik diperoleh pada variasi penyaringan endapan bertahap pada setiap 8 jam dengan kandungan Ni 50,23%, recovery 107,289%, dan separation efficiency Ni 90,5%.

The development of the electric vehicle industry in
Indonesia has caused the need for batteries as one of the main
components of electric vehicles to increase. NMC (Nickel
Manganese Cobalt) battery is one type of battery used for electric
vehicles. In making the NMC batteries, nickel is used instead of a
metal such as Ni, but in the form of compounds Nickel (II) Sulphate
Hexahydrate (NISO4.6H2O). The abundant amount of laterite ore
in Indonesia can be processed to produce NiSO4.6H2O. This study
aims to analyze the effect of time of staged filtering sludge on
neutralization filtrate. The material used is ferronickel resulting
from smelting from a mini blast furnace. The leaching process was
carried out using 120 mL of 2M H2SO4 solution at 90 °C for 6 hours
with a stirring speed of 200 rpm, followed by a neutralization
process using CaCO3 powder to pH 3.01 at 90 °C. After reaching
a pH of 3.01, the leached solution was held at a temperature of 90
°C for 24 hours and a staged filtering of the precipitate formed with
variations of 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, and 8 hours was carried
out. The best results were obtained in the variation of staged
filtering at filtering every 8 hours with content of Ni 50,299%,
recovery 107,289%, and separation efficiency of Ni 90,5%
