Abstract

Dalam Proses produksi garam di PT. Garam (Persero) terdapat tahap pengecilan ukuran garam yang terjadi di mesin crusher dimana proses penghancuran garam sering mengakibatkan blocked screw conveyor dikarenakan garam yang menempel pada dinding chute mesin crusher. Sehingga membutuhkan operator khusus untuk membersihkan garam yang menempel dengan cara mendorong sisi bagian dalam Chute dan memukul bagian sisi luar Chute yang mengakibatkan kerusakan pada chute. Oleh karena itu dirancang alat pembersih garam dengan metode air sweep namun pada kondisi dilapangan memerlukan adanya modifikasi nozzle agar dapat di assembly dengan solenoid yang ada.
Langkah awal dalam memodifikasi nozzle yaitu menentukan perencanaan desain nozzle, perancangan mekanik serta perencanaan sistem kendali. Dengan aplikasi Inventor 2021 yang berguna untuk merancang gambar desain nozzle kemudian katalog air sweep digunakan sebagai acuan membuat nozzle dengan proses permesinan dan Arduino sebagai alat mikrokontroller yang berguna sistem kendali sederhana dan dilanjutkan dengan menganalisis data.
Berdasarkan hasil perancangan, didapatkan modifikasi nozzle dengan ukuran Panjang nozzle 63,5 mm dan diameter 33 mm dengan tekanan 6 bar serta lama pembukaan nozzle 250 milisecond yang diatur oleh sistem kendali dengan setting pemograman menggunakan Arduino dapat merontokkan garam yang menempel pada chute mesin crusher dengan variasi ketiga solenoid terbuka bersama dengan jeda waktu 3 detik.

In the process of producing salt at PT. Garam (Persero) there is a salt size reduction
stage that occurs in the crusher machine where the salt crushing process often results in
blocked screw conveyors due to salt sticking to the crusher machine chute wall. So it requires
a special operator to clean the adhering salt by pushing the inside of the Chute and hitting
the outside of the Chute which causes damage to the Chute. Therefore, a salt cleaning device
was designed with the air sweep method, but in field conditions it requires a nozzle
modification so that it can be assembled with the existing solenoid.
The first step in modifying the nozzle is to determine the nozzle design plan,
mechanical design and control system planning. With the Inventor 2021 application which
is useful for designing nozzle design drawings, then the air sweep catalog is used as a
reference for making nozzles with the machining process and Arduino as a microcontroller
tool which is useful for a simple control system and continued by analyzing the data.
Based on the results of the design, obtained a modified nozzle with a nozzle length of
63.5 mm and a diameter of 33 mm with a pressure of 6 bar and a nozzle opening time of 250
milliseconds which is regulated by the control system with programming settings using
Arduino to remove salt attached to the crusher machine chute with variations all three
solenoids open together with a 3 second delay.
