Abstract

PT Meratus Advance Maritim (MDM) adalah salah satu perusahaan freight-forwarding yang memiliki armada curah kering dengan jumlah yang besar. Seperti kapal pada umumnya, kapal MDM memiliki sistem permesinan yang kompleks, seperti sistem pendingin mesin, sistem pelumasan, sistem bahan bakar, sistem udara tekan, dan masih banyak lagi. Selanjutnya salah satu komponen pada sistem pendingin mesin adalah Fresh Water Generator (FWG). FWG menghasilkan air sulingan dari proses desalinasi air laut di kapal. Di armada MDM, FWG seringkali tidak menghasilkan jumlah yang tepat, seperti yang disebutkan dalam panduan proyek FWG. Sebagai solusi, operator kapal biasanya melakukan observasi kondisi fisik untuk mengetahui bagian mana yang bermasalah. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas pengamatan, penulis mengusulkan solusi untuk membuat penilaian risiko kualitatif berdasarkan metode Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) untuk mendukung proses pengambilan keputusan. Dengan Decision Support System (DSS), operator kapal diharapkan bisa mendapatkan second opinion sebelum mengambil tindakan. DSS tersebut nantinya akan dirancang dalam perangkat lunak yang mudah digunakan dengan menggunakan Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) dan Studi FMEA dilakukan berdasarkan Standar Internasional IEC 60812. Berdasarkan hasil studi kasus, DSS dapat memberikan saran untuk kegagalan berdasarkan metode penilaian risiko dengan cara yang mudah dipahami oleh pengguna.

PT Meratus Advance Maritim (MDM) is one of the freight-forwarding companies which have a large number of dry-bulk fleets. Like ships in general, MDM's ships have a complex machinery system, such as engine cooling system, lubrication system, fuel system, compressed air system, and many more. Furthermore, one of the components in the engine cooling system is a Fresh Water Generator (FWG). FWG produces distillate water from the seawater desalination process in the ship. At the MDM's fleet, the FWG often does not create the right amount, as mentioned in the project guide of the FWG. As a solution, the ship operator usually does a physical condition observation to know which part is in trouble. To increase the quality of the observation, the writer proposes a solution to create a qualitative risk assessment based on the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) for supporting the decision-making process. With the Decision Support System (DSS), the ship operator could get a second opinion before taking action. The DSS will later be designed in an easy-to-use software using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and the FMEA study is conducted based on the International Standard IEC 60812. Based on the case study results, the DSS could provide suggestions for failures based on the risk assessment method in an easy way to be understood by the user.
