Abstract

Efisiensi investasi merupakan kegiatan investasi dengan pengembalian yang diharapkan perusahaan. Investasi yang efisien tidak berada dalam kondisi overinvestment dan underinvestmen. Efisiensi investasi juga menunjukkan seberapa jauh perusahaan memanfaatkan sumber daya yang dimiliki perusahaan secara tepat, hemat dan tidak boros. Semakin tinggi efisiensi yang dicapai oleh perusahaan, akan meningkatkan nilai serta kinerja perusahaan. Terdapat informasi asimetris pada keputusan investasi yang diambil oleh perusahaan, karena keadaan perusahaan tidak semua di laporkan pada pihak luar perusahaan. Sehingga manajer dapat melakukan penyimpangan seperti manajemen laba yang bisa menyebabkan tingkat efisiensi investasi menurun. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mencari pengaruh manajemen laba terhadap efisiensi investasi dengan dimediasi oleh kualitas laba. Terdapat 1680 sampel dari 512 perusahaan non keuangan yang terdaftar di bursa efek Indonesia sebagai sampel penelitian pada tahun 2016-2019. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder yang terdapat pada laporan keuangan dan tahunan perusahaan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah regresi data panel berupa Random Effect Model dan Fixed Effect Model dan menggunakan uji sobel untuk melihat efek mediasi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini menunjukkan 1) tidak terdapat pengaruh dari manajemen terhadap kualitas laba, 2) terdapat pengaruh positif dari kualitas laba terhadap efisiensi investasi, 3) manajemen laba tidak dapat mempengaruhi efisiensi investasi secara langsung, 4) kualitas laba tidak dapat menjadi variabel mediasi antara manajemen laba dan efisiensi investasi.

Investment efficiency is an investment activity with the expected return of the company. Efficient investment is not in a condition of overinvestment and underinvestment. Investment efficiency also shows how far the company utilizes the company's resources appropriately, sparingly and not wastefully. The higher the efficiency achieved by the company, it will increase the value and performance of the company. There is asymmetric information on investment decisions taken by the company, because not all of the company's circumstances are reported to parties outside the company. So that managers can make deviations such as earnings management which can cause the level of investment efficiency to decrease. The purpose of this study was to find the effect of earnings management on investment efficiency mediated by earnings quality. There are 1680 samples from 512 non-financial companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange as research samples in 2016-2019. The data used are secondary data contained in the company's financial and annual reports. The method used in this research is panel data regression in the form of Random Effect Model and Fixed Effect Model and uses the Sobel test to see the mediating effect. The results obtained from this study indicate 1) earnings management has no effect on earnings quality, 2) there is a positive influence from earnings quality on investment efficiency, 3) earnings management cannot directly affect investment efficiency, 4) earnings quality cannot be a variable. mediation between earnings management and investment efficiency.
