Abstract

In the immunization program, vaccines are the main component that must be guaranteed availability as long as the vaccine has special standards that function to select vaccines when they are produced in pharmaceutical factories or pharmaceutical retailers, while at the distributor to the distribution chain in hospitals, vaccine supplies must be managed properly. However, the delivery of vaccines in several very large areas has a very complex problem, namely the administration of vaccines to populations who have not met the target. With this background, this research will develop a maximum covering location problem model for vaccine distribution. This study aims to equalize distribute the COVID-19 vaccine for residents in several areas that are still not distributed well. The development of this model is expected to increase the percentage of vaccinations in order to immediately meet the target and break the chain of spread of the COVID-19 virus. This study has eight scenarios where there is a scenario if 500,000 doses of vaccine are allocated to a maximum of 5 candidate locations for vaccination and a maximum of 10 candidate locations for vaccination with coverage distances of 15km and 20km. The next scenario is for 750.000 doses of vaccine to be allocated to a maximum of 5 candidate locations for vaccination and a maximum of 10 candidate locations for vaccination with a coverage distance of 15 km and 20 km. All scenarios with the purpose of fullfilled the demand for the population to be vaccinated in Kabupaten Malang are 70%.
