Abstract
Industri manufaktur menghadapi tingkat persaingan bisnis yang cukup tinggi pada beberapa waktu terakhir. PT Poly Sejahtera Indah sebagai salah satu perusahaan di bidang manufaktur yang menghasilkan produk tali juga turut bersaing di pasar. Penting bagi perusahaan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pelanggan meskipun sering terjadi fluktuasi permintaan. Fluktuasi ini terkadang menyebabkan terjadinya kelebihan jumlah produksi sehingga menyebabkan produk dijual dengan harga yang lebih rendah. Hal ini menjadi permasalahan pada sistem persediaan, karena stok persediaan telah digunakan dan perusahaan mengeluarkan biaya persediaan dalam jumlah normal namun nilai jual yang dihasilkan lebih rendah. Selain itu, terkadang pemasok menawarkan persediaan diluar jadwal pembelian yang berpotensi meningkatkan biaya penyimpanan. Maka dari itu, dilakukan perhitungan untuk meramalkan jumlah permintaan agar perusahaan dapat merencanakan kapasitas persediaan yang optimal. Pada penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan adalah material requirement planning. Objek penelitian berfokus pada tali PE karena merupakan tali dengan permintaan tertinggi. Setelah melakukan peramalan, dilakukan perhitungan lot sizing dengan tiga metode yaitu Lot for Lot, Economic Order Quantity, dan Period Order Quantity. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode Period Order Quantity menghasilkan biaya paling rendah dan dapat menghemat biaya persediaan sebanyak 5,9% atau sejumlah Rp 1.200.532.620 dalam satu tahun.

The manufacturing industry is facing a fairly high level of business competition in recent times. PT Poly Sejahtera Indah as one of the companies in the manufacturing sector that produces rope products also competes in the market. It is important for companies to meet customer needs despite frequent fluctuations in demand. These fluctuations sometimes lead to excess production, causing products to be sold at lower prices. This is a problem in the inventory system, because the inventory stock has been used and the company incurs inventory costs in normal amounts but the resulting selling value is lower. In addition, sometimes suppliers offer inventory outside of the purchase schedule which has the potential to increase holding costs. Therefore, calculations are carried out to predict the amount of demand so that the company can plan optimal inventory capacity. In this study, the method used is material requirements planning. The object of research focuses on PE rope because it is the rope with the highest demand. After doing the forecasting, lot sizing is calculated using three methods, namely Lot for Lot, Economic Order Quantity, and Period Order Quantity. The results show that the Period Order Quantity method produces the lowest cost and can save inventory costs as much as 5,9% or Rp Rp 1.200.532.620 in one year.
