Abstract

Surabaya, with an area of 326,36 km2 and a population of 2.599.796 people, (about 7,4% of the total population of East Java), with its economic strength makes this city have a strategic role and is taken into account in determining the direction of the province's development policies. East Java. Surabaya as a city of culture, education, tourism, maritime, industry and trade continues to experience rapid development. Transportation in Surabaya is developing along with the growing population, increasing job opportunities, and increasing people's income levels. The problems that are being faced by the city of Surabaya, especially traffic jams. Congestion appears influenced by the lifestyle of the townspeople themselves. A lifestyle that tends to be pragmatic, consumerist, and hedonistic. The development of inland water transportation such as rivers in Surabaya using ships as an alternative way so as to increase transportation efficiency. River Crossing Vessels with Automatic Electric Winch Propulsion System and made of polyethylene as a basic material for river crossings can develop and improve transportation efficiency without compromising the safety of the surrounding environment. By finding the average number of passengers crossing the Jagir River, Surabaya can be an owner requirement. Then, using the point-based design methode to get the final main dimentions of ship, which are LoA = 10,5 m, B = 3,6 m, H = 1,1 m, T = 0,64 m.
