Abstract

In the process of producing electricity, several process units will produce emissions that may have an impact on the environment and human health. The purpose of this study is to analyze the most dominant environmental impact and the operating unit that contributes the most to the environmental impact so that it can be used as input for evaluating programs that have been implemented in the company to reduce environmental impacts, as well as providing recommendations for priority leading programs in tackling environmental impacts appropriately.
Environmental impact analysis was carried out using the LCA method using the SimaPro application with the CML-1A and ReCiPe methods. The results of the LCA analysis become the basis for evaluating the determination of company programs related to energy efficiency and air pollution reduction. These programs are then analyzed using the AHP method by considering 3 aspects consisting of financial aspects, technical aspects, and environmental aspects. The data input for the implementation of the AHP method is based on the company's internal expert respondents. The AHP method uses an expert choice (EC) application, to get the priority leading programs that are able to reduce environmental impacts.
The results of the LCA analysis show that the production process of 1 kWh electricity contributes the most dominant environmental impact based on the CML-IA Baseline method is abiotic depletion fossil fuel of 11,62466 MJ and based on the 2016 Midpoint ReCiPe method are global warming of 1.049575 kg CO2 eq and terrestrial acidification of 0.003672 kg SO2 eq. The recommendations for environmental management priority leading programs related to energy efficiency are setting the coal to air ratio, cleaning tube boilers, replacing the air preheater element, while the priority leading programs for reducing air pollution are setting the coal to air ratio, tiny oil burner, changing the operating pattern of the LFO pump. It was concluded that the implementation of setting the coal to air ratio program effect on reduction in the impact of global warming by 71,01% (0,755846 kg CO2 eq) and reduction in the impact of acidification by 65,52% (0,002406 kg SO2 eq). As well as the implementation of LFO pump operational pattern change program effect on reduction in the impact of global warming by 72.02% (0.755891 kg CO2 eq) and reduction in the impact of acidification by 65.53% (0.002406 kg SO2 eq).
