Abstract

Kapal-kapal penangkap ikan yang biasa sandar di Pelabuhan Branta – Pamekasan menggunakan coolbox sebagai wadah penampung ikan dan es balok sebagai media pendinginan. Hal ini memiliki banyak kekurangan, yaitu, es balok yang mudah mencair, terjadinya kebocoran air lelehan es balok ke dalam kapal, dan penurunan kualitas ikan hasil tangkapan. Oleh karena itu, Tugas Akhir ini bertujuan untuk merencanakan peti kemas mini dengan menggunakan ice gel sebagai media pendingin. Metode benefit cost ratio (BCR) dipakai untuk mengetahui apakah inovasi tersebut bermanfaat atau tidak. Hasil rancangan menunjukkan bahwa ice gel dapat menggantikan es balok karena dinilai lebih praktis, murah, ramah lingkungan, dan dapat digunakan berulang kali. Perancangan peti kemas ini memerlukan 1.303 ice gel agar dapat mendinginkan peti kemas dengan ukuran panjang 2,991 meter, lebar 1,219 meter dan tinggi 1,296 meter. Dalam satu kapal penangkap ikan memerlukan 4 (empat) peti kemas berpendingin mini. Selain itu, hasil perhitungan benefit cost ratio menunjukkan angka 1,24 yang berarti rancangan ini layak.

Fishing vessels berthed at Branta, Pamekasan commonly use coolbox to carry and store fish and ice block as refrigerant. Combination of coolbox and ice block disadvantages, that is, the ice block is easly melted, melted ice block can leak to the vessel, and the qualityu of the fish will decrease. Therefore, this Final Project propose to design mini container using ice gel as the refrigerant. This innovation aims to provide better energy use than the conventional one. On another side, the BCR method is used to evaluate the advantages of this innovation. The result shows that the ice gel effectively replaces the ice block. The ice gel is more practical, cheaper, environmentally friendly, and reusable. The design of the proposed box consumes 1.303 ice gel to cool the box with the dimension of 2,991 meters of length, 1,219 meters of width, and 1,296 meters of height. One fishing vessel requires 4 (four) mini reefer containers. Other than that, the results of the calculation of the benefit cost ratio show the number 1,24, which means that this design is feasible.
