Abstract

Salah satu komoditas di sektor peternakan yang cukup umum di Indonesia adalah industri peternakan ayam. Industri peternakan ayam merupakan industri yang cukup penting di Indonesia karena tingginya permintaan daging ayam. Banyaknya jumlah ayam yang harus dikelola menimbulkan beberapa kendala tersendiri. Untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut, perusahaan menambah jumlah pekerja dan menyalakan pemanas secara berkala. Hal ini dapat mengurangi risiko kematian dan penurunan berat badan ayam, namun biaya yang dikeluarkan menjadi bertambah. Internet of Things (IoT) adalah suatu konsep yang dapat mengintegrasikan domain digital dan domain fisik lewat jaringan internet. “Smart Poultry”, sebuah aplikasi berbasis IoT, memiliki fitur yang dapat mendukung peternakan ayam modern. Smart Poultry menggunakan sensor yangn akan terhubung dengan sistem cloud. Data dari sistem cloud kemudian akan terhubung ke aplikasi Smart Poultry. Dengan penerapan IoT di peternakan ayam diharapkan investasi dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dengan penghematan biaya sehingga dapat meningkatkan keuntungan bagi perusahaan. Meskipun berbagai penelitian telah menunjukkan bahwa penerapan IoT di peternakan ayam telah berhasil dilakukan, studi tersebut masih belum dapat menunjukkan nilai ekonomi dari penerapan IoT di peternakan ayam. Hal ini penting karena banyak perusahaan yang tidak mengetahui apakah keadaan perusahaan saat ini membutuhkan teknologi IoT atau tidak. Kesalahan dalam pemilihan investasi berdampak pada peningkatan pengeluaran sedangkan keuntungan yang diperoleh tidak maksimal. Hal ini menyebabkan Capital Budgeting menjadi penting untuk berinvestasi. Dengan melakukan Capital Budgeting, perusahaan dapat membandingkan selisih keuntungan sebelum perusahaan melakukan investasi dan setelah perusahaan melakukan investasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa investasi IoT dapat mengurangi jam kerja sebesar 8% dan konsumsi gas sebesar 67% selama setahun sehingga diperoleh keuntungan investasi sebesar Rp4.788.915

One of the commodities in the livestock sector that is quite common in Indonesia is
the chicken farm industry. The chicken farm is a fairly important industry in
Indonesia due to the high demand for chicken. The large number of chickens that
must be managed raises several obstacles of its own. To overcome these obstacles,
the company regularly increases the number of workers and turn on the heater
regularly. This can reduce the risk of death and weight loss of chickens, but the
costs incurred will increase. Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept that can integrate
digital domains and physical domains through the internet network. “Smart
Poultry”, an IoT-based application, has features that can support modern
www.chicken. Smart Poultry uses sensors that will connect to the cloud system.
The data from the cloud system will then be connected to the Smart Poultry
application. With the application of IoT on farms, the investment is expected to
increase productivity by reducing the cost so that it can increase profits for the
company. Although various studies have shown that the application of IoT in
chicken farms has been successfully carried out, these studies still cannot show the
economic value of implementing IoT in chicken farms. This is important because
many companies do not know whether or not the current state of the company
requires IoT technology. Mistake in investment selection could increase expenses
while the profits obtained are not maximized. This causes Capital Budgeting to be
important for the decision on IoT investment. By doing Capital Budgeting,
companies can compare the difference in profits before the company makes an
investment and after the company makes an investment. The results show that IoT
investment can reduce working hours by 8% and gas consumption by 67% for a
year so that an investment profit of IDR 4,788,915 is obtained.
