Abstract
Penggunaan sistem OFDM sangat mendukung layanan komunikasi wireless broadband masa kini seperti 4G dan mendukung perkembangan generasi 5G untuk transmisi data kecepatan tinggi. Teknik OFDM atau Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing dapat menghemat bandwidth kanal, mengatasi Intersymbol Interference (ISI) dan dapat mempertahankan kinerjanya dalam kondisi kanal yang buruk. Namun dalam implementasinya, OFDM memiliki kelemahan yaitu tingginya nilai Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR). PAPR adalah perbandingan dari daya puncak dengan daya rata-rata sinyal. Nilai PAPR yang tinggi membutuhkan daerah kerja dari Power Amplifier (PA) yang lebar untuk mengakomodasi sinyal. PA merupakan komponen penting dalam sistem pemncar OFDM untuk menguatkan sinyal, namun PA bersifat nonlinier dimana daerah kerja PA terbatas sesuai dengan spesifikasi komponen. Jika sinyal OFDM dengan PAPR yang tinggi melewati daerah nonlinier PA, puncak sinyal akan terpotong oleh wilayah saturasi PA yang akan menyebabkan pelebaran spektral dan distorsi in�band sehingga menurunkan performa sistem OFDM.
Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, diperlukan suatu teknik mitigasi untukmemperbaiki kinerja sistem OFDM karena distorsi nonlinier dari PA dan meminimalkan nilai PAPR sinyal OFDM. Pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan
simulasi dan analisa tentang kinerja dari gabungan teknik reduksi PAPR dan teknik linierisasi PA dengan predistorter. Model memori Hammerstein diusulkan sebagai model predistorter. Sedangkan teknik reduksi PAPR menggunakan teknik clipping dan µ-law Companding. Pengujian dilakukan dengan membandingkan dua skema antara sistem OFDM yang terkena distorsi nonlinier PA tanpa dan dengan predistorter. Selanjutnya, diuji teknik mitigasi dengan gabungan predistorter dan teknik reduksi PAPR. Simulasi menggunakan perangkat lunak Matlab. Fokus dari penelitian ini adalah pengurangan nilai PAPR menggunakan analisa kurva Complementary Cumulative Distribution Function (CCDF), analisa spektrum PSD, dan performa sistem dengan analisa Bit Error Rate (BER).

The use of the OFDM system strongly supports today's wireless broadband communication services such as 4G and supports the development of the 5G generation for high-speed data transmission. OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) technique can save channel bandwidth, overcome Intersymbol Interference (ISI) and can maintain its performance in poor channel conditions. However, OFDM has high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR). PAPR is the ratio of the peak power to the average signal power. A high PAPR value requires a Power Amplifier (PA) with large linear region to accommodate the signal. PA is an important component in the OFDM transmitter system to amplify the signal, but PA is nonlinear where the PA linear region is limited according to component specifications. If the OFDM signal with high PAPR passes through the nonlinear region of the PA, the signal peak will be cut off by the saturation region of the PA which will cause adjacent channel and in-band distortion thereby reducing the performance of the OFDM system.
Based on these problems, a mitigation technique is needed to improve the performance of the OFDM system due to the nonlinear distortion of the PA and minimize the PAPR value of the OFDM signal. In this study, simulation and analysis of the performance of the combined PAPR reduction technique and PA linearization technique with a predistorter will be carried out. The Hammerstein memory model is proposed as a predistorter model. While the PAPR reduction technique uses clipping and μ-law Companding techniques. The test was carried out by comparing two schemes between OFDM systems exposed to nonlinear PA distortion without and with predistorter. Furthermore, mitigation techniques were tested with a combination of predistorter and PAPR reduction techniques. Simulation using Matlab software. The focus of this research is to reduce PAPR value using Complementary Cumulative Distribution Function (CCDF) curve analysis, PSD spectrum analysis, and system performance by Bit Error Rate (BER) analysis.
