Abstract

Keberadaan sistem layanan informasi kampus sangat dibutuhkan oleh mahasiswa. Informasi kampus adalah salah satu landasan bagi mahasiswa untuk menentukan agenda-agenda kegiatannya selama menjadi mahasiswa di kampus tersebut. Ketidakvalidan, ketidakjelasan, kesulitan pengaksesan informasi kampus dapat menimbulkan kerugian bagi mahasiswa. Sebagai pemenuhan kebutuhan terhadap informasi yang valid, akurat, terpercaya dan kemudahan dalam mendapatkannya, maka dikembangkan sistem layanan informasi kampus dengan menggunakan aplikasi Java dan berbasiskan teknologi Bluetooth sebagai media untuk melakukan perlukaran data. Adapun perangkat yang dibutuhkan untuk menopang sistem layanan informasi kampus ini adalah telepon seluler dengan teknologi bluetooth dan memiliki fitur Java, komputer yang mampu menjalankan program Java, dan komputer yang mampu menjalankan database dan web server.

Campus information is one of foundations to determine student’s activity agenda in campus. Invalidity, uncertainty, and difficulty in obtaining campus information can lead a disadvantage for student. Thus, the existence of system that provides campus information service is essential for students. In order to fulfill the need of valid, accurate, and trusted information, and to facilitate access to it, a campus information service system is developed based on Java application and also Bluetooth technology as a media for data exchange. Devices needed to support this system are celullar phone with Java and Bluetooth capabilities, Java-enabled computer, and computer that acts as a server for Web dan database. Conclusion inferred from this research is the developed applications are able to provide campus information service.
