Abstract

Competition in the industrial world is so tight, one of the influencing factors is the development of technology. PT Serbaguna Prima is part of the industry, namely a company that specializes in wood processing and products such as FJLB (Finger Joint Laminated Board), furniture, house components, and piano components. The product that is the object of research is FJLB because FJLB itself is the main product produced by the company. Efforts to control product quality need to be made to maintain and improve product quality in the midst of technological developments and existing competition by using quality control tools, one of which is a control chart. The control chart contains information in the form of the continuity of a production process and it can be seen how many products do not meet specifications. This study discusses the comparison of the performance of the CUSUM (Cumulative Sum) and EWMA (Exponentially Weighted Moving Average) control charts in detecting the out of control condition in the FJLB production process at PT Serbaguna Prima. In accordance with the results of the analysis and discussion carried out, there were several samples that were outside the control limits, meaning that FJLB production had not been statistically controlled. The results of the performance comparison analysis also show that the CUSUM control chart provides a better performance or sensitivity capability of 5.714% compared to the EWMA control chart in detecting the out of control signal
